On arrival the garden and grounds and view were superb. We found a nice table and all was very clean, the waitress friendly and efficient. Sadly it was not a carvery but a plated meal. When it arrived I was sad to see that the plate was overloaded. Gammon slice, (bit fatty) 6 roast potatoes (which could have been a little more crisp.) cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, brocholli, pop up Yorkshire pudding. stuffing (a bit tasteless,) and gravy. A massive meal which would have done me for two days. It looked good value but sadly I could only find room for half the amount. Sticky toffee pudding with custard was superb. and a good coffee to follow. I feel this pub has missed a trick. Most of the people lunching were 70 plus and would have preferred to have a carvery where they could just take as much as the wanted and not been over faced by such a plateful I shall go again but try their a la carte menue, ot specials if they have them

AreAte here as a large party recently. We found the food to be very average. Not quite the same feel as the first time we went here some 18 years ago. The curry was ok, but then so it is in Wetherspoons. The food didn?t take long to come. The tables were in need of some work. A little dirty. Would only come back if desperately hungry. Outdoors has some climbing frames for the kids.

the view and the outdoor area was fantastic the pub food is very very average and very expensive if you just want to go there for drinks listen to the band on a Friday night sit outside and chat with friends its ideal staff ok but need a chef in the kitchen who cares about food

We came here today for a family Sunday lunch, first time visiting? And last. Ordered our daughter sausage and chips, we were told it could take up to 20 mins (which is fine) it literally came out within 5, deep fried sausages and they were RAW! Complained to the woman behind the bar, she snatched it from my husbands hand and said to another work member ?go and tell the kitchen to make another one? .. She didn?t say sorry! She was just extremely rude and had no customer services skills at all. Obviously this put us all off so we didn?t go up for our carvery (definitely wasn?t missing out as we looked at it closely on the way out and it didn?t look very good) Wish I had thought to take a picture of the sausages! Most definitely would not return.

Arranged for a meet up with the family. Childs meal arrived fairly quickly but our mains (specials) were forgotten for nearly an hour! (We were engrossed woth our catch up). Apologies given that communication with the kitchen had failed. Waited another 20/30 mins. Food was excellent other than only 3 of my 5 mussels had opened. Unable to point this out as plates were taken away while I was away. Bill paid but no recompense. Selavi! Just get your act together please.

Absolutely faultless. Fantastic venue, fantastic staff and fantastic food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who worked tirelessly all day and evening to ensure the guests were happy. One of the staff even gave a wedding guest and her children a lift to the bandb at 01:00 when the taxi didn?t arrive. What more can you say.

We visited the wind whistle for a carvery after hearing that it had a great outdoor space for the children ? which it does! And thank goodness really because it?s about the only good thing about the place unfortunately which is such a shame because it has so much potential. We had 4 carvery?s, at nearly £70! And weren?t told at any point that it included desert. Vegetables were undercooked, and the cauliflower cheese was thin and tasteless. Broccoli was brown around the edges and the condiments section was such a mess it was actually very unappealing. If we return, it won?t be for food.

Firstly I must say we?ve been here a few times over the past few months and each time has been great, and we should probably have written reviews to this effect. Absolutely nothing wrong with the food quality or the service when we visited on Friday 11th, however the glass wasn?t very clean at all and the food was advertised as a large portion of fish and chips, I would suggest it should be called a small portion, the fish size was ?ok? however 11 chips is difficult to call a large portion. Also the mushy peas were stone cold.

The best Land Rover specialist in the region.1. Technical expert, can fix anything Land Rover.2. Honest and open communication, providing options to the customer.3. Friendly and takes time to explain possible faults or repairs needed.Don't go anywhere else for your Land Rover repairs or maintenance. Windwhistle 4x4 is the best

Most local hostelry to the luxurious Swandown Lodges just across the road. The Inn changed hands towards the end of last year so earlier critiques should be taken with a pinch of snuff!! It was recommended by none other than the vicar of St. Thomas' Church in the beautiful local Warner holiday complex just down the road. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Menu was not the most comprehensive in the World but the options were well prepared, tasty and great value for money, augmented by a wide range of ales from the bar. Do not be fooled by the fact that the Inn has a VERY unassuming roadside view. The views from the large outdoor dining area are brilliant, overlooking the Somerset Levels below. For those with ankle biters there is a large but discreet play area.

Nice place. Had a lovely Saturday evening meal. Nice touch to add a large/small portion option as Mother in law tends to leave a lot of her food. Great views from the beer garden, which had live music when we were there. Across the road from Swandown lodge where we were staying so very convenient.

Went for lunch on nice sunny day. Not been to the Inn for a year or more. Very glad to see that it has had a lot of work done outside with nice landscaping around the tables and benches. Very good lunch, served quickly and at a reasonable price. Learned that it had changed hands last year and it certainly shows! Will be back soon.

Ordered a main came out as a starter, questioned the portion size to be ignored went to the bar to see they had rubbed the main option from the special board as 3 of us complained. To be greater by rude staff. Not great do not advise

Attended a club dinner here. The Inn/Pub met every need of the dinner and the guests. I got the impression they did it with ease and tried to pull out all the stops to achieve a good result for the members and their guests. Food excellent and service for that number of people outstanding by some really pleasant young people. Looking around the Pub/Inn they obviously have a very full social actvity programme. If we are in the area we will go back.
