Fabulous food. The chef clearly is brilliant with flavours. We were a party of 8 and we all had something different and we all felt our meals were wonderful. Lovely staff too.

20 of us turned up without a booking on Saturday and received a warm welcome. We were told that they could accomodate us, but there would be a delay on food as they only had one chef in - this was absolutely fine by us and we appreciated the heads up on timings.
The food was delicious. There were a few items sold out, but that's understandable when food is prepared fresh. We actually ended up staying for hours - our children started a chess tournament with some of the locals. We then stayed to watch the rugby and again chatted to the locals in. Lovely atmosphere.
We had some lovely hot chocolates, alongside beers etc.
Would recommend.

Lovely pub but the food is really letting it down great atmosphere and the serving staff and bar staff are great very badly let down by the chef. He couldn't even do us a plate of chips in the evening and the Sunday Roast was all very overcooked to say the least. Every meal does not need to be Gluten Free.

Wonderful dinner with friends at the Waldegrave last night - East Harptree is such a picturesque village. We were given a very warm welcome from new owners (the pub has recently reopened as community-owned) and the buzzy (that?s ?buzzy? not ?noisy? !) Saturday night atmosphere was complemented by a great menu - fabulous burgers (with multiple veggie options - my wife had the mushroom one ?); all the pub classics (my fish and chips was a show-stopper) plus there?s ribs, pies and steaks too - and imaginative salads and specials (Sea Bass was on last night). Good range of beers and wines as well. Top night. We?ll be back! T

We had a Sunday lunch here yesterday and were so impressed by the quality of the food and the extremely friendly service. We were sat in the garden with a play area for our kids and the servers will still very attentive. The roast was excellent and we had a side of Pigs in Blankets that were delicious and a very generous portion - plenty to go around for the whole table! We had the brownie for dessert which again was so tasty and a generous portion to share. We will definitely be back again!

Wow what a fantastic pub to stumble across on a walk around the area. We received such a warm welcome from the landlord and members of staff and felt instantly at home. They even brought biscuits and a water bowl out for our dogs and were very kind about them both being a little shy! Pay no attention to the old reviews - this pub is now community owned, and as such is under new management and the fantastic team there should be celebrated! Our lunch was the best we've had in a very long time - also tonnes of gluten free options which is rare in rural areas, and delicious options for vegans too. The food and service were a 10/10. The curry sauce on my vegan fish and chips was my personal highlight!

Fab Sunday roast today. The portions were enormous and the meat was really good. It got very busy but the waiting staff did a phenomenal job of serving and keeping everything moving. So lovely to have it open again and busy!
