Definitely recommend the jacket potatoes and chilli on chips, both huge sized portions and lush staff and hospitality. We sat upstairs with the dog and the staff weren't bothered even when they had to step over her.

I need to give this place a huge mention ! absolutely awesome food. we sat upstairs in the pink room as garden was full, I've never seen so much food on a plate. I had the ploughman's with extra cave aged cheddar, just wow. wife had doorstop sandwiches with cheese and ham, absolutely huge. little one had kids cake and sandwich presented on a 2 tier stand. we just about finished it. definitely worth going in for food. keep up the great work guys!

Lovely place to stop for a bite at Cheddar. They have a gorgeous garden in the back, fresh food and a great atmosphere. My only complaint would be that it did take a lot of time to get served, get food, and in general just getting staff to the table. It might have been a one-off where they were understaffed, or they just had more people than usual since it was a sunny weekend.

I adore these cosy, picturesque, little tea rooms, surrounded by stunning nature and landmarks like the Cheddar gorge and caves. Very English, with good quality home made treats.

Super friendly staff, beautiful rooms and decor inside and a lovely outdoor seating area, and delicious, reasonably priced food - would highly recommend!
I visited today with my partner to have breakfast before a long walk. Excellent veggie and vegan options on the menu, we both really enjoyed our breakfasts - generous portions but our clean plates says it all and we needed our walk afterwards!
At the end of our walk we popped back to buy cake and cheese to takeaway - haven't tried the cheese yet, but have eaten the cake, also delicious ?
Thank you to the staff who were so friendly and attentive ? I would definitely come here again if I'm back in this area ?

Looks nice from the outside but no menu outside so no way to see prices before entering.
Inside it's dark but nice, two floors and a terrace out the back.
Food wise, I had a lovely chocolate milkshake and ham, egg and chips.
Overpriced for what you got but then you are in a tourist trap so it's what is expected.

We visited the Lion Rock Tea Rooms for breakfast with a group of 15 last weekend (booked & pre-ordered in advance). They were incredibly accommodating, organised & we had the most fantastic time. The food, drinks & service was absolutely perfect. The staff were so helpful & on the ball. It was truly the best experience I could have hoped for & the breakfast was one of the best I've had out. Special mention for the fact there are vegan variations for the majority of items on the menu, we only had one vegan in our group, but it makes such a big difference when you feel you are catered for. We had such a good time we came back the next day for lunch (in their beautiful garden) before heading back to London. Thanks so much!

A brilliant place to stop by for food, snacks and tea and cakes. Greeted by a friendly lady staff, who showed us upstairs to the pink room for our lunch - nicely decorated dinning area. There is an open terrace too, if you can brave the wasps and bees in this season.
A good selection of hot food, tasty sandwiches, good portion sizes, the fruit scone was particularly popular on our table. Overall a wonderful dinning option

Gorgeous setting in the Gorge! Frontage on main road doesn?t do it justice. Treat yourself with an excellent selection of teas and delicious cakes in their beautiful garden terrace setting. With friendly service guaranteed too!

What an amazing place to stop for food, snacks, or just tea & cake. From the friendly greeting & being shown to our table on the terrace, the whole feel of the place is comforting, as from the outside it looks to be a small building, but there are tables on the ground & first floor, plus the terrace which is a real sun trap & gets very busy in those sunny days.
It's all table service which is both easier & most pleasant as the young person taking our order was helpful & informative as we were looking to adapt our order for Gluten Free & Vegan. With no real time delay we enjoyed our choices of cream teas, cakes, tea, coffee & hot chocolate, no food was wasted or left by us, as there was no faults or complaints with our visit.
We are planning to go back again real soon for breakfast & I am sure a cheeky slice of cake or two as the dessert display is most dangerous on your eyes, taste buds & definitely the waistline, oh well life is too short to not enjoy cake.
Thanks to the full team working during our visit.
27/06/25 Today is our returning visit, I am sure of many more. After a long walk around Cheddar, you just have to stop for a break, maybe a cream tea, which we did today, with one of which needed to be Gluten Free. Another amazing visit for some excellent food, & what a great, warm, welcoming & friendly staff team they were again.
A big Thank You.
13/07/25 : Another visit & a great meal. Today was for breakfast, a full breakfast which I fully enjoyed, the flavours were amazing, I can not fault this place. Another great visit & I am positive that we will return again soon.
Many Thanks.

Really lovely afternoon tea today. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Used the gift voucher I was given for two for ?Afternoon Tea? . Booked this via the route given. Arrived at the venue. and was told it was just a sandwich and one scone plus a drink described as ?lunch?. If we wanted afternoon tea it would cost another £10 each. Thick bread used for one sandwich cut in half, had to ask for a plate to eat it off. No decorative salad. Coffee Luke warm. Dated decoration. Staff not particularly friendly. We will not be visiting this venue again.

Lovely tea room, with a wonderful selection of teas. We have been several times and had an excellent cream tea on our latest visit last weekend. We shall be sure to be back again!
