Wife's toasty was good. My ploughman's however was culinary anarchy! I've never been served a whole celery stick, whole spring onion and half an apple before... and leaving the sticker on was the piece de resistance! A little more effort in preparation needed methinks!

Wonderful friendly staff . The sandwiches are to die for Fresh bread and so much filling. I have an allergy they were so understanding and helpful ! would give ten stars but only goes up to five

Lovely selection of food, staff were extremely friendly and service was quick. It was busy the 3 times I attended at various times across the weekend. Coffee was very nice (barista made) and cookies equally so. A wide selection of cakes and pastries as well as a menu of food choices such as breakfast sandwiches, cream teas, baked potatoes and toasties.
Option to take away food was nice for when no seat could be found although patrons quickly moved on noting how busy it was and people waiting.
Indoor and outdoor seating access from the cafe. Outdoor overlooked the road and small river running right in front
Great access to the gorge from the site being just up from the caves and Jacob?s ladder.

Best cafe in cheddar, good coffee, amazing cakes, cookies, pasties, pies, and sandwiches.
Really friendly staff and a lovely stream next to it

I always think it?s overpriced here and staff seem to overcharge regularly. Will try other places from now on

Ate here yesterday, had the cream tea and ploughman's. Never seen a ploughman's like it, full plateful of cheddar cheese (of course) ham, huge chunks of bread, pickles, salad, pickled onion and apple, worth every penny!
The cream tea, was gorgeous, freshly baked scone, clotted cream and jam, plus strawberries! Beautiful setting in the Gorge next to water.
Staff were delightful too!
Absolutely worth a visit!

Lovely small cafe. Ordered two teas and two plain scones, only to realise they were charging us more for not taking the cream scone offer . So, I changed to two cream scones and tea with no cream and got the offer price. Perfect sense ?
Nice scones

Came here for the first time about a year ago and will hopefully be visiting again soon during the holidays :D I visited with a party of 3 + 1 dog and the service was quick, especially considering how busy it was.
The drinks were nice, the sandwiches were insanely good, but the most impressive part was definitely the cakes. I've never had such high quality baked goods in any café or restaurant before.
I highly recommend the Café Gorge Club and, if they're available when you're there because I think the cake selection changes, the Espresso Brownie & Pear Frangipane. This place is worth every penny!

My usual stop for a coffee and cake or cream tea when visiting Cheddar.
The counter is always full of delicious bakes, sweet or savoury.
Good coffee and tea selection as well as some local beers.
Staff is always polite and helpful and very accommodating.
During one visit the pasty I ordered was very cold inside which was corrected quickly.
Nice view for the main street and the Lion Rock opposite.
