We stay at the hotel because the rooms are reasonable, (some rooms need a bathroom update) to compensate the traditional English food although limited choice is excellent. We visit different hotels in a year but the food here is the best in this style.
Rooms: The rooms are ok and clean and the showers always have hot water but the bathrooms need updating ie it would be better to replace the bath/shower to showers which I
prefer.
Safety: Fine
Walkability: It depends how far you want to walk.
Food and drinks: Food is excellent for traditional English food.The wine list is reasonably priced and they serve cask beer when I stayed it was Jail Ale.
Noteworthy details: Approximately 1.5 miles from the centre of Frome.

An excellent stay. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. The food was top rate. We will certainly be going again.

The room we were accommodated in, room no. 4, was WORTHLESS!! Old, musty, noisy, moldy? from the year 0! Because it was late and we were tired after an hours-long car journey, we stayed. Early in the morning we wanted to take a nice shower, but NO, NO HOT WATER!!! And NO ONE PRESENT, so no help either! We had to leave at 7:00 am. to leave. To pay, we had to wait until 7:30 am. to wait! ?143! No mention of this at check-in!
Safety: NO STAFF IS PRESENT DURING THE LATE EVENING/NIGHT. Not until 7:30 am. a lady arrives to 'man' the reception.
Special details: Broken towels and heavily moldy shower doors. Not to mention other mold spots in the shower room. Dirty toilet seat? WORTHLESS AND ABORABLE. ABSOLUTELY NO PRICE/QUALITY RATIO!!! UNFAIR AND MISLEADING HIGH RATINGS ON GOOGLE, TRIPADVISOR AND BOOKING!!!! DOES NOT CORRECT WITH REALITY!!

Went for a meal and a few drinks with family. Fabulous as always. Cannot fault it. Lovely staff, lovely food and an excellent selection of drinks including two very well kept real ales, draught quality cider on tap and excellent gin sand wine selection

We booked the Lordleaze for a dog friendly retreat. Yes the rooms are a little dated but they?re good value, clean and more spacious than others. The service is excellent and food is SUPERB. We ate dinner on site one night and it was so good we ate in the second night too. Highly recommended !

Strange hotel this. Located at the end of a long road which might have been remote and stunning years ago before you had to drive through a huge housing estate to get to it.
It is a quiet place and the beer garden isn't a bad place to hang out.
Rooms are quite basic and a little sparse. This place has a good reputation for food and its well earned. The food was amazing along with the service. Even the humble hotel staple of a Burger was probably one of the best I've had. I wouldn't stay here again but I would eat here again without hesitation.

Just for dinner. Delicious food and friendly, professional service including a delightful complimentary amuse bouche.
I like dogs but not so close to my dining table and seeing them with snouts on their own table. I like dogs but not snarling and barking at nearby dogs. I think the dogs felt hemmed in, the environment was unfamiliar and they were edgy. Not fair on the dogs.

Dog friendly hotel. Bedroom a little basic as was the coffee in the room.
Lovely bar area.
Excellent dinner (5 stars!)
Breakfast was okay but nothing special eg basic white sliced bread.
Great that they already have capability to charge to electric cars.
Lovely large grass field just outside hotel to exercise dogs.
Rooms: Basic but with ensuite. Double glazed. Comfortable bed. Good quality TV.

Just completed a 3 night stay at the Lordleaze, lovely little hotel, staff, food and service was spot on, would definitely stay again if passing through.
Food & drinks: Food and drink was very good with lots of choice on offer.

We met up with family for lunch together. The food was amazing, and the whole time we were there, it was so relaxing everything we had was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was just right. We have all spoken about this away from the restaurant, and all agreed that the quality of the food and taste was spot on. Along with friendly service, we will be going back again soon.
Well done to all at this hotel.

Six of us stayed here for a family gathering. The food was excellent and the staff super friendly and helpful. They welcome dogs and even provide a goody basket for them with towel, bowl and treats. It was easy to walk them from the hotel. The room was worn, but comfortable, with a powerful shower. I'd love to stay here again
Food & drinks: I ate a terrine, roast duck and frangipane. All were well presented and tasted great. All our group thought the food was excellent, including the breakfasts which included plenty of fruit.
