Meal was lovely. Only two thing we did not like one they had no fish pie, this was poor owing to the limited menu. We ordered a bottle of wine off the wine list this to was unavailable. Now to the great meals we both had my partner the bugger and me the sausages and mash. Both were good.

Well when the food came and we handed a plate to our 4 year old because we thought it was a kids meal, we were sorely disappointed. Adults roast, one slice of carrot, a mouthful of cabbage and 3 TINY roast potato?s. Yorkshire like a pancake. We did mention to the staff who added a couple of bits to my partners plate but definitely not worth the cost. No offer of a drink or money back. Photo shows my plate before I started eating. Daughters chicken breast inedible! Never again.

Brilliant staff but I thought the rooms a little on the small side for the price.

The rooms were very over priced, we paid £152 with breakfast which for a room above a pub in Burnham on Sea is very expensive.
There was no shower just a shower hose in the bath with no wall fixing. The paint was peeling around the bathroom window and other parts of the bathroom. No additional TV channels.

It was nicely decorated, but very expensive for what you get. Interesting artworks on the wall and boutiqu-ey styling, the bed was comfy and the room was well sized and had what we needed.
It's at a pub, so assume some late night noise from patrons etc, but when you're paying hotel prices for board, you don't expect to have the Dyson hand dryers in the bathrooms below keeping you awake all night. There was a plug socket in the wall right behind my pillow which seemed a little bit of a fire hazard and I bumped my head on it a couple of times while in bed. I ended up shifting the bed over to stop it happening. Shower needed two hands to operate (really stiff mechanism) and was low pressure, but hot enough. The room was quite dusty and there was a lot of mould in the tiles in the shower. We were in room 1 which was right next to the stairs and the door so there was a lot of noise from the floor, door, and stairs whenever someone walked past our room; thankfully this didn't happen a lot, but given they state in their literature that if there's a nicer room available when you check in they'll put you in it, they must have all been full so consider noise from other guests to be low.
When we arrived I asked what time breakfast was served and they made it seem like we were inconveniencing them because we were "room only". We went room only because we had to leave early one morning - they did clarify that this didn't mean we weren't allowed to have breakfast, we would just have to pay for it which we already understood as it's a fairly universal concept. The next morning we went down for breakfast and they were surprised again ("but you're room only"). At no point did they suggest we had to book or anything but did make us feel like we were inconveniencing them (though didn't say this, otherwise we'd have been happy to go elsewhere). Breakfast was very underwhelming - ordered eggs Benedict and it didn't even come with any English muffin which you'd expect so it was two poached eggs on a strip of bacon - first time I'd ever seen that - took me less than sixty seconds to eat, and despite being quite tasty it left a sour taste in my mouth as it cost £28 (for two of us including a coffee.)

Went for lunch, and both ordered mackerel salad starters, and they brought us salmon nicoise, which we would have kept as we'd waited an age, but the eggs were sloppy! Amazingly, it's not even on the menu!
It then took half an hour to get the mackerel, which was some horseradish sauce spread on a plate, a bit of watercress, a few slices of raw beetroot and a small smoked mackerel filet plonked on the top. This would literally take 2 mins to prepare. I was gobsmacked. Even though we got completely the wrong order, the chef had put us back in line. I have been a chef and, in that situation, would always prioritise rectifying the mistake. This is the only place in Burnham to have a decent pub meal, and it's been a disappointment every time I've been there to eat...

Somebody here has gone the extra mile.
A really nice place where they've thought hard about how to make things just right.
