I must say having visited Tesco in Bridgwater on several occasions in the past the service was always great never had any negative experiences until yesterday evening just before 9:30 pm. So I was in company with my 17 year old daughter. I picked up a few items as follows: a bag of ice, two whole meal pittas, a fruit platter, a Tesco orange juice, 4 cans of San Miguel, and one can of Malibu cocktail pineapple flavor. We were both together in the store obviously and also when I was cashing for said items. Approval was needed for the last two mentioned items and before assistance came a short female worker shouted across the store at my daughter asking her for her ID. Mind you I was cashing and was about to make the payment. So she reluctantly, rudely and ignorantly came over approached my daughter again asking her for her ID so I intervene obviously and told her this is my daughter the alcoholic items are for myself and my wife why haven?t you ask me for my identification or address me. She uttered something and walk away. She returned sometime after cause obviously I couldn?t have completed my transaction without approval as we both stood there in shock as to what just transpired. Especially infront all the other customers who were also looking on in silence. She reluctantly and ignorantly removed the Malibu drink and said she would not allow its approval only the rest of items and the reason she gave was totally absurd, foolish and completely unfair. She said to us that previously she saw us discussing about the items. So I?m guessing cause only she alone can give her reasoning to this unreasonable action she took . So my concerns are as follows: even if she had reasonable cause to believe the alcoholic beverage was for my daughter which is not by the way, none of my kids consume alcohol or is allowed to. The manner in which she addressed it was absurd, embarrassing, very unprofessional and I?m sure not of the standards of Tesco and if it is well??.
If her concern was as mentioned why approve one and not the other ? Makes no sense to me at all. So I?m left with not only my daughter questioning me, why we were both treated like that but why I even completed the transaction. But I said to her sometimes we can?t respond in kind cause, I just remained silent let her do and say whatever and left cause I always want to set the right example for my daughter. So I refused to raise my voice as she did, I refused to give her any satisfaction in regard to getting any type of negative response or behavior from me especially in the presence of my kid. I would not be returning to that location whatsoever. The audacity of some people . Some people don?t have a clue what good customer service is at all!!!

Clean, tidy, friendly. A bit more cramped than a usual express, but given the space restraints of the building that is understandable.

Has the items that you need, however in the current climate of Somerset being the highest with the virus not one member of staff are wearing Face covering and have moved sanitizer to an area you don't walk past so you miss it.

Terrible service. Was just asked to wear a face mask and even after I explained that I am exempt from wearing a mask the lady continued to make a scene and TOLD me I must wear a mask next time I go there. This was infront of several customers and I felt embarrassed and belittled. Service was slow and all 3 members of staff just stood and watched while other customers needed assistance on self service..Once again visited this store after saying I'd never do it again.... staff were rude yet again and talking about customers behind their backs slandering... never again
