Shutting at 12:30 on a Saturday when people like me work from 4am - 6pm during the week is absolutely ridiculous. Surely reopening later in the day would be better than just shutting. I really need to use the bank to deposit money and now I'm stuck. Not great.

It's a bank no better or worse than any other bank. As with most banks these day's lack of staff as they prefer you to do online banking as this reduces their wage bill meaning bigger bonuses for the big guys

I too have been told that I need an answer some 3 weeks away in order to open an account.
I don't want to do this on line.

Just been in to your Bridgwater branch What a fantastic experience. Went in to open an account for my 16 year old daughter. Had so much hassle with other banks all week. Jon helped us with everything all done in 20 mins what a fantastic person so helpful. Thankyou x
