My wife and I bought Christmas cards and a book from W.H. Smith when we were in Bath.

A rather chaotic store now. It used to be logically laid out, but I was looking for the latest Private Eye Annual & just couldn't find it, or even where it could be!

Post office is very good but avoid Mondays as every eBayer is posting!

It?s a good store, however there?s a pen rack area where you test the pens however i recently bought a pilot g7 4.99 pen, and it has half of the ink already used due to everyone able to use these pens which has really annoyed me. Please sort this out it?s simply pathetic and honestly a scam.

Bath it self is a romantic place . And places are so fantastic

This branch of smiths has a haphazard layout and not as many staff as a shop this size should have. The post office upstairs was rather busy, and the staff were managing as best they could despite needing more staff members. The staff that helped us were very polite and helpful.

Hectic and a poor selection of magazines.

Some unique, very pretty stationary staff. Little bit expensive, but good quality.

Recently this shop has looked like it's in the final stages of closing. Displays are shabby, half filled and neglected. The upstairs book area is smarter but has a poor selection. Is WHSmith going to be the next High Street closure?

When I asked the first person working here for special delivery envelopes he simply replied "all we have is there" and when I showed the one product similar to what I wanted and explained to the 2nd person behind the counter he replied "this is exactly what you want" and I paid £15 for 5 envelopes and stamps to find out at the moment I was handing my documents in an office in London that those were not "special delivery envelopes" and needed to rush out to buy it before loose my turn. When I returned to complain about this misleading behaviour, surprisingly I just heard from the lady behind the counter that "I have started this week here I do not know abput last week!!!". No offer of refund and even an apology! £15 would not make me broke but surley ruined my day with the confusion. Set aside the sarcastic laughs of the employee with the costumer standing behind me since I was not British enough to understand all the posting rules and I was asking questions to make sure I have the correct envelope! No stars deserved for this place.

Nice Smith's, got the post office upstairs too which I would rate different as they are always understaffed, the poor guys....but nice store otherwise, can get lots of stationary, snacks and birthday cards and books ?

Couldn't find a single staff member to help on the shop floor. Tried upstairs and downstairs

I do not understand the Post Office setup they've opted for in this store. There are usually 2 or 3 staff working upstairs, but it's incredibly rare to see more than one till open at any one time. This results in queues of 20, 30, 40 or even 50 minutes. To make matters worse, the staff engage in long-winded small talk with just about every customer. That would be perfectly fine if the store were empty, not when there's a queue of people waiting, some of whom have been there almost an hour! Desperately understaffed and poorly run

It's just a WHSmiths store but with a very poor, understaffed Post Office. This is the fruits of privatisation. The Tory Cabal of Corruption and Lies, flogged off cheaply. Of course, rather than have enough staff to serve, the shareholders dividend is more important.
