We had breakfast as guests of people who were staying so didn?t get to see the bedrooms but everything we saw was beautiful. Lots of comfortable seating areas, wonderful gardens to walk amongst and a delicious breakfast to enjoy. All in all a very civilised experience!

I recently visited this spa with my best friend for a £165 package, which included lunch and a massage. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely Spanish lady who assisted us with our belongings and guided us to the spa floor. However, the moment we stepped in, we were shocked by the poor conditions. The entire facility was unclean, with visible mold, scale buildup, and an overall lack of maintenance. The changing rooms, spa, and sauna were in a shocking state (see pictures). The pool water looked murky and uninviting, and the hydromassage jets were all turned off. With only a few local swimmers using the tiny pool, we were left standing at the edges, unable to properly swim or relax.
The sauna and steam room were equally disappointing?no essential oils to enhance the experience, and yet more signs of neglect and uncleanliness. Throughout our time there, we did not see a single staff member cleaning, and stepping into the showers meant stepping onto other people?s hair.
Hoping for a better experience, we moved on to the Occitane Spa, which was in a completely different building. Walking between the two in cold weather while still wet was far from ideal. Thankfully, the Occitane Spa itself was beautifully maintained, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. However, our 60-minute massage was unexpectedly cut short?we were picked up 10 minutes late but still finished at the scheduled time, reducing our actual treatment to just 40 minutes. The massage itself was pleasant, though not exceptional. I had chosen a head massage, but instead of a proper scalp treatment with oils, it was just a light rubbing of my hair, which felt like a missed opportunity.
Afterward, we were briefly recommended some Occitane products, but when we stepped outside the treatment room, there was no one available to provide further advice or prices, so we simply left. The best part? The tea offered in the relaxation room.
Finally, we were rushed back to the dreadful changing rooms before heading to our lunch reservation at 2:30 PM. The restaurant was empty, yet the service was slow. While the welcome glass of champagne was a nice touch, the burrata starter was small, cold, and flavorless, with no condiments provided. The main course, while tasty, was disappointingly tiny, leaving us still hungry and needing to eat elsewhere afterward.
Overall, this was a deeply underwhelming experience. Given Bath?s reputation for wellness and spa treatments, I expected far better. The only saving grace was spending the day with my best friend, laughing as we tried to make the most of it. Sadly, I would not return or recommend this spa to others.

Had a spa day, you get 2 to 3 hours of use of the facilities before the massages that you book as well as two courses of the lunch. Spa and massages were good very good service making sure to ask if you have any injuries and also has a room after the massages for you to drink tea and relax in. Food portions were small and healthy. Definitely fits in with the spa day.

Just had a splendid afternoon tea. Great tasty selection served by friendly, helpful staff.
Rooms: Didn't stay - we live locally.
Nearby activities: Big park and botanical gardens within a few minutes walk.
Walkability: Mostly flat in and around hotel. Fifteen minutes walk into Bath centre.
Food and drinks: Absolutely great!
Noteworthy details: Lots of really interesting art around the public rooms.

I had the most amazing Spa Day at the Bath Priory. In a lovely location, beautiful building and great service. Treatments were fantastic and the spa itself was just perfect

A lovely one-night stay here to celebrate a special birthday. Attentive and helpful service at check-in.
Our room was upgraded which was a great surprise - little lobby, sofa, huge bed, table/chairs, large bathroom. Enjoyed the spa - steam room, sauna and small pool, comfy loungers.
Lovely spaces to relax in the library and drawing room.
Didn't explore the 4 acre gardens as ran out of time.
Breakfast was the only slight disappointment. Service was slow. Options were varied and I enjoyed delicious home-made granola, yogurt, fruit platter and croissant. Husband (regretfully) chose to save himself for the full English which really was very sparse! A large plate with food placed individually, no overlapping or creative arrangement. One sausage, two strips of streaky bacon, one mushroom, half a tomato, two eggs. Most bizarrely, no baked beans! Also no hash brown which is not too unusual but we have never heard of a full English without beans?! We thought it was a mistake so checked the menu... no mistake. We also had to ask for toast.
All in all, though, really can't complain and we hope to return. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful hotel with great staff. Thank you!

We were so looking forward to a special a Valentine's Day together the spa, treatments , dinner, champagne you know all those indulgent moments especially after your partner has been so unwell and nearly didn't survive to see today.
Well how disappointed we were. The spa has had better days and I would say we found it very dirty, we have travelled and visited many spa's.
The treatments were amazing, rooms relaxing, the ladies who carried out our treatments were absolutely lovely.
Then we sat down for champagne and lunch. Again how disappointing. We had to wait 40 minutes for our champagne and then We were given the menu's service was very slow even though there were not many people around. I would say I found this very annoying and very disappointing not what you expect for what we paid for the day. We have eaten here before and sat in the main room for dinner which we had no complaints about whatsoever but felt today we were treated totally different.
I would say the food is great, absolutely delicious , no complaints whatsoever...
Would I go back.
Definitely not to the spa...
yes to have a treatment,
dinner not sure as felt I there are plenty of other places to have an indulgent afternoon.
Overall 50/50 today nit as great as was looking forward too z

My husband and I had an amazing experience at this hotel. We booked the New Year's party package.
The staff are extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The service they offer is fantastic. They really care in making sure you're having the best time.
The hotel itself is really pretty, the bedroom and bathroom are very well looked after, the decoration in the peony bedroom was stunning. Both are very clean as well - all toiletries are from L'occitane.
Every morning we bad biscuits or cookies in the bedroom, they also left a bowl with fruits and dates. There's also complementary water ( which was replaced every day).
The food is definitely the highlight of this hotel. It's simply fantastic! Absolutely delicious, and you can see the passion they have for their cuisine.
The breakfast is also amazing! Everything is freshly cooked, you can pick the food from their menu, their sausages were so delicious!
You can tell they cook everything from scratch. I was also glad to find açaí on their breakfast menu! It's so rare to see it in a breakfast menu in the UK, and it was a really good quality açaí (cheap and bad quality ones are full of sugar).
Their spa is also very good! You can use the pool and saunas as part of your stay, the extra spa services that are charged.
Regarding the New Year's package , it was amazing! It's totally worth it. The New Year's dinner was stunning, I have no words to say how delicious it was! The fireworks display was also fantastic! The only minor problem was that the staff were a bit lost where the countdown was happening, so everybody ended up missing it, which was a shame.
However, the whole experience was so good that this didn't matter in the end.
Overall, this is a fantastic hotel that cares about their guests. We will definitely return!

Amazing place that surpassed our expectations.
After a very expensive car repair, we were on a bit of a tight budget for my husband?s birthday. After reading good reviews, we decided to book here.
The hotel contacted us straight away with details of some really useful information and tips. This was good because we had some accessibility needs, for which they were very accommodating.
When we arrived, there weren?t any parking spaces. They came out and helped worked out somewhere to park, then insisted they help with our bags. Everyone was very attentive and couldn?t do enough.
My only feedback would be, it would be nice to have some spa stuff outside. Maybe Swedish sauna or traditional wooden hot tub. The gardens are beautiful so be amazing to experience them more as part of the experience.
Food and drinks: We ate in the restaurant and are massive foodies so have high expectations. Food was amazing, service was amazing. We couldn?t fault it.

We went for the New Year's Eve package for one night over £1100.
I have added three stars because of the food. The hotel is a nice place and the staff are very attentive.
The afternoon tea was good with two scones, jam and clotted cream and sandwiches.
The evening Gala Dinner was
extremely mean foodwise and left everyone on our table feeling hungry.
The five course dinner started with something billed as ravioli which was one no more than 3cm on big porcelain plates. And so it went on with minuscule amounts that tasted fine but not enough to feel satisfied.
They tried to create an imitation to Michelin, but nothing like the real thing.
Everyone I spoke to there had never been before and possibly will never go back.
Next day I spoke to someone who had been ten years ago and after the meal felt so hungry that they went to get fish and chips!
Breakfast next day was again sparce, the cooked "Full English" included half a small tomato, half a small mushroom, one sausage, one rasher and one egg and we were not offered Buck's Fizz as advertised. We also waited an hour for it to be served.
The Mcdonald Bath Spa 5 star hotel we stayed at the following night offered a much better and cheaper deal at a fraction of the price, even taking into account the Gala Dinner.
You choose!
