Great shop. Shame it's going to be turned into a SPAR within the next couple of months. Staff will be the same I believe but I expect price rises and the range of goods will be reduced ?

Excellent shop - always prefer to use this over the co-op down the street as its a lovely independent business and the guys that run it are always fab!

Great store and always has what you are looking for. The two guys are a credit to the store, given the diversity of their customer base.

The ultimate corner shop. J Road Stores, magnificently staffed by Manuel and Raphael offers a cornucopia of domestic goods from frozen foods and snacks to basic toiletries and over the counter medications, laundry soap, drain unblocker, shoe laces, soft drinks and dairy, sweets, pet supplies, fuses, balloons, smoking paraphernalia, buckets, many brushes, baby stuff, cock soup, non functional tin and bottle openers, light bulbs and fuses plus loads and loads of alcohol. But more than that it is a hub of the local community and all are served with equal courtesy, kindness and humour. There are many local residents who only shop there, I wouldn't think their diet is optimally healthy, often washed down with ample quantities of white lightening or budget special brew but it keeps body and soul together.Unlike most small shops in Bath the prices are very competitive and the brothers are hugely knowledgeable both about their stock and the minutiae of local gossip. The corner shop is a wonderful urban phenomena which Bath is sadly lacking but this is a splendid example; uniquely adjusted to the local community. It's a treasure you won't find on any map, except Google!Open not so early, say 10.30ish to late (11pm) seven days per week, 365 days of the year, Julian Road Stores has been a fixture of the J Road, as it is known in local parlance for over 25 years and it's still going strong. Recently sporting card payment facilities it shows every sign of thriving well into the 21st century.
