I cannot recommend Santander at all! I opened an account as an international student as they were on campus. When closing my account for moving back they send me a cheque for the remainder of funds in the account that can only be cashed into a UK bank account in my name (which is obviously not working). Customer service (apparently Jamie does not even have a last name!) does not care and is not offering any solutions. Seems to be setup this way on purpose, so they don't have to return any leftover funds from an account.

I don't often go into the branch, but visited yesterday and the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. I didn't have to wait long to be served and they took the time to explain everything to me, let me double check I was happy with all the details and answered all my questions fully. Would definitely go back.

We did not like dealing with them. The people at the bank were more than classy, ??but the bank?s policy was exhausting. Not this branch, but the Essex University branch.

Bank is a bank but staff are friendly and ATMs out front where you can make deposits is useful since the hours are limited

I have now been trying to speak to someone at Santander for two days. I cannot obtain a phone number for the Bath branch (just a generic 0800 number with a massive wait time). The web chat facility is 100% useless - I'm locked out of my accout, so what is the point of telling me to log in to change security features? If it was possible to give a rating of less than 1 I would. No doubt to solve my problems I will need to drive to Bath, pay for parking, only to be told to make an appointment and repeat the whole process.

Went there before 10am today and the female staff who was sitting on the right was really kind and helpful. Nice and friendly atmosphere throughout. Thank you.
