Elise was wondeful, i went in on my lunch break to try on a pair of mary janes and Elise helped from the moment i walked in to when i left, she was extremely patient and understood what shoe i was looking for. She was friendly and such a great help!

Last week my wife and I visited the Bath shop of Jones Bootmaker. We each bought a pair of shoes. Throughout we were assisted by Elise who was everything she should be and more. Elise was thoroughly pleasant at all times, patient, and gave us helpful advice. We are most grateful to her.

Excellent service and great choices. Not only are the shoes of great quality but they are very reasonably priced in my opinion. There are different fashion styles for instance Gabor as well as Jones own brand. The staff here in Bath are quite exceptional nothing is too much trouble. They have wonderful personalities and it?s become an event to shop there. I have now bought three pairs of summer sandals and I intend to stay loyal to them. Lucy, Dom and Wendy were helping me and other customers yesterday 19th June.

Too bad about this mixed customer experience. The shoes are very beautiful but what upset me here was the advice or rather the absence of any customer relations. Not being a native English speaker (but still largely understandable because she has been living in England for several months), one of the advisors preferred to stop me in my request for information for the benefit of another completely English-speaking client. So I found myself cut off, stupid in the middle of the store with my mother. The shoes are nice but they won't be enough to bring me back.

Imagine having a fine store crammed full of wonderful shoes and boots (Ladies fashion ground floor Gents upper floor) with quality oozing out the door in the breeze only to find your address is Cheap Street. It's not what you think though as the name Cheap Street comes from the medieval word 'Cheap' or 'ceap' meaning 'to sell' and more loosely to 'market'.I got a wonderful pair of quality black leather shoes here that fit me perfectly at size 11. I got them at under half retail price too. The sales assistant was very helpful and pleasant but upselling appears to now be necessary in this less caring society. She endeavoured to sell me the internal wooden shoe shapers with one set around £20 and another £40 waving one at me. I politely declined but next it was a machine that would protect the leather from staining (for 3 months) at £4 so I agreed to this then she tried to sell me polish. I declined and as this point it has become tedious, I just wanted away. I began to think that I was in a Monty Python sketch. This is a chain of shops with an 160 years of history and a company that had a visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 1955. It began in 1857 when an Alfred and Emma Jones opened a footwear shop in Bayswater, London. They were parents to 11 sons and three daughters. Nine of the 11 sons were apprenticed into the trade where each went on to open their own stores trading under the name A. Jones & Sons, and so it began. Interestingly the Joneses were the first traders to install electric lighting into their shops. Who knew.

Sadly shoes broke after 3 uses, however staff were understanding and gave a full refund.
