Friendly staff, great variety of local beers/ciders and amazing food, I would recommend either the Ashcott inn burger or the full yorky! Fantastic atmosphere with a dog friendly environment and a log burner. What more could you want from a village pub?!

Always good food and the staff are great, there's just not enough of them. Also having to queue at the bar to order anything is not ideal, especially when there's 10 other people jammed in there along with 2 tables of

Amazing food, very dog friendly and lovely staff. Throughly recommended, we were passing by and called in on the off chance for food which was the best decision we made! Plenty of alcohol free options, we had the pie and cod mornay. Pie was according to my bf ?best pie I have ever had in my entire life? cod was incredible too!

We live close and thought we would give it ago. Glad we did ! Husband was funny about the starter (mine was great) they took it of the bill without a thought or being asked ! Hubby had lamb shank for main and it was even taken of the bone (not many places do that). My veggie food was amazing and so nice a pub actually made an effort to try something different rather then VEG LASAGNA ...Boring !!! We never eat a full three course meal but did at The Ashcott. Well worth a visit ....my daughter is down in Feb for her birthday and we are booking a table!!!!

This is an absolutely excellent pub/restaurant. The menu is extensive, combining modern takes on old favourites with newer more contemporary dishes. For example, the 1970s favourite 'Prawn Cocktail' is reinvigorated in both presentation and taste to provide a lite but deeply flavoursome starter beautifully presented. We had the Christmas platter - it was called something different but I dont recall. It 'twas the night before Christmas (!) and it was a delicious potpourri of turkey, beef, cheeses and vegetables. Alongside the delicious food is a comprehensive wine list and a good choice of beers and lagers. Completing the triad is the service which is always first rate with a group of young, attentive, friendly and clearly well trained staff looking after us. A nice touch was Craig - owner and chef - coming out to greet us (and our dogs) as if we were old friends. On the issue of dogs; this is 'dog heaven' and all are welcome. There is even a separate dog menu. We have now eaten here on a number of occasions; three times on Christmas Eve and a couple of times with the family doing the year. The food, warmth of welcome and service are always exceptional. Highly recommended - just don't go on Christmas Eve as we don't want too many others crowding our yearly treat.

Visited with a group of friends for a Christmas dinner. 2 of us have food allergies. We all agreed that the whole meal from start to finish was perfect. Delicious food, plenty of it with great service and we all agreed we would definitely be back another time. It was a joy to have a chat to the chef Craig and have him really understand and appreciate food intolerances outside the standard. It was a delight to be able to choose from the full menu.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed my entire experience at The Ashcott Inn. My friends recently moved to Ashcott and to celebrate their move, we all had an evening meal at The Ashcott Inn. Not only are the staff so warm and friendly, they genuinely listen to everything and absolutely nothing is a bother. Their understanding of food and their knowledge of all the drinks on offer is phenomenal.Freshly served, piping hot, exquisite food is on offer at this delightfully decorated Inn. My friend often says that I remark on every meal and not always in a positive manner, however, this Inn has absolutely everything going for it. I can truly recommend this restaurant without hesitation. I would challenge any food critic to find fault in this charming, tucked away little treasure.Dietary restrictions: Every effort is made to deal with any dietary requirements you have.Parking: Lots of parking with ample atmospheric lighting.

Haven't been to the Ashcott for a few years. We decided to book a table for lunch on our way back from a morning of shopping. I have to say I was very impressed with the whole experience from start to finish. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We both enjoyed plentiful meals so much so we couldn't squeeze in a dessert but that's just us. We will definitely be back soon and would thoroughly recommend as a great place to eat

Recently visiting twice for family Sunday Roast and Saturday Lunch, stunning and well kept gardens for outside dining, lovely indoor setting for a better than Pub comfortable setting, a lovely well maintained dining experience. Food fresh, local and can cater for food intolerance, owners on premises to make sure your best experience and welcome, staff really attentive, nothing too much trouble. Best pub food in the area and not to be missed, will keep returning. The venue has lots to offer, first class attention from the minute you arrive.

After a gap since we went to the Ashcott, our fault not theirs, we have been again recently a few times. Took our son and his wife and both men reckon it was the best steak we have had for a long time, daughter in law had a prawn dish which she loved. On all recent visits my wife has stuck with the beer battered fish she said it was so good,I have also had the ale and steak pie which was excellent. So many other tempting dishes on the menu must try some more soon.

We stopped by for lunch on impulse. As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed by an excellent, friendly waitress who seated us and expertly explained the options and some changes on the menu, devised in response to that day's availability of fresh food (always an excellent sign), before bringing us our drinks. There was a lot of choice, we had trouble choosing from some tempting options. I did not want a huge meal so chose a chicken skewer starter with a side of fries, my husband chose the fish and chips. When the food arrived I knew as soon as I spotted the clearly home made sun dried tomatoes on my attractively presented salad plate, and the snipped chives and garnish scattered on the fries, that this was not going to be the usual run of the mill pub meal. The food was absolutely delicious, definitely a cut above the average. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and, when the chef appeared behind the bar, had a very enjoyable chat about the cleverly designed menu, and food in general, that sent me home inspired for an afternoon's cooking. Fortunately we don't live far away so, delighted to have discovered this gem on our doorstep, will definitely become regulars. Thank you!
