Hands down the best carvery I have ever eaten. All veg was fresh and beautifully cooked instead of overcooked mush like other places. The beef was extremely tasty and perfectly tender. The roasters were well seasoned and crispy. The mash potatoes was perfectly smooth and very well seasoned. Nice large Yorkshire puddings. The gravy was so rich and tasty I wanted to lick the plate. The best dish from the carvery however had to be the cauliflower cheese. Far from the bland watery substance they serve elsewhere, this cauliflower cheese was beautifully homemade with plenty of cheese. 10/10 can't wait to return for another carvery. This will definitely be my only choice for a roast from now on.

we stayed 4 night recently. we were attending a race meeting locally.
we had lovely welcome , lovely restaurant.
After a few hiccups with room issues. we got sorted great.
Staff couldn't not of been more accommodating, polite. service with smile.

My parents and I were welcomed with such warmth and we received great hospitality during our 2 night stay as we were at a car racing event. From check in to when we left, Julie and family were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, we had a brilliant meal on Saturday 12 July 2025, great atmosphere and chatting to some lovely people in the bar. We loved their dog and even a pony to greet us on arrival.

We had a Sunday carvery - make sure you book as it gets busy! - we booked for 1pm for 10 of us. Food was beautiful, we all had piled high plates and we were all stuffed. Great value for money and we are already discussing another visit! Great food and lovely staff

First impressions very good. Very busy. Party of 24 arrived for Father?s Day celebrations. 3 staff members behind bar but only 2 able to serve. No draft coke so cans £1.60 each and j20 £3.20 each. Carvery lots of veg. Poor portions of meat for £16 head. Mishmash of plates. Regular meal served on small plates and some on large. Landlord sat on other side of bar all time on there busy period Ladies come to collect plates when people in group still eating obviously short of plates. The desserts were terrible for £6.95 for one waffle had to ask for the ice cream to be added .

called friday 23/5/25 problem with my meal but julie was brilliant soon offered me a new meal also a refund but we declined the refund the meal replaced was enough we wish
julie all the best in her new venture so come on locals
support your pub get the tayleur back to where it was

I?ve never felt so unwelcome going into a pub. Stood at the bar waiting to be served. No one else at the bar so no need for a delay. A man behind the bar completely ignored us whilst he was watching a game of pool. He walked to another area of the bar to get a bar maid, and she didn?t even come to serve us so we left without having had a drink.
I can only assume business is so good that they don?t need new customers!
