Will go out of their way to avoid honouring warranty. Good prices but assume your not getting the warranty.
Had to return multiple times as they never had the controller to replace the item. (And would not pay the replacement value in cash)
When finally returned the forth time claimed the controller has been damaged by myself and wasn't eligible, very suspicious. (Despite testing it on previous visits and saying it was eligible but they just didn't have a controller)

Usually have had great experiences at this place, however I was met with two very rude staff members, who decided to constantly cut me off when I was asking a simple question. Please check your customer service training with these people.
Update. As of 2025 I decided to go back. It hasn't changed at all. I can't say I expected CEX to partake in some nationwide training for the entire staff across the country, however I did expect perhaps in that store they could maybe hire some people with that ability to communicate with customers and not have the communication style of a furby.
Honestly CEX I've never encountered such awful human to human communication, It's like the entire staff talk down into the collar bones when talking. They are almost scared or outright passive aggressive when communicating with the customers.
Years ago, around 2017/before the staff were solid. They were so nice, genuinely they were engaging, bubbly, had great game knowledge, and it felt cool chatting to them.

Agreed for for price £72 told me come back an hour, not ready told me 30mins later not ready again, came back an hour later telling me offer £31 due to their mistake of model! what a waste of time 2 half hrs

Traded in an iPhone 14 128GB midnight blue for cash. It wasn?t mint condition but was in very good if not excellent condition and it was working perfectly fine. In fact I charged it for the team, wiped and reset the phone for the team at CEX Telford prior to my visit. The phone was boxed with the original charger.
An inspection by the team on the phone was needed as this is standard procedure. After an hour, I returned and was informed by the inspector guy/girl not too sure as ?Hal? if that was its real name was a transgender working behind the corner told me that due to their own wire / charger chord was not holding in the port of the phone and if moved the wire would pop out. I tested my own official Apple charging wire and it fitted snug and didn?t fall out when moving the phone and took abit of pressure to pull back out the phone. However due to the transgenders wire behind the CEX desk which couldn?t quite hold a connection they decided my phone would be classed as ?Non-Working? and significantly dropped the cash trade in from £173 to £120.
CEX have always been the same, buying products and selling them for near enough the same amount in price to something you can buy new and unused! This ?Hal? person in Telford CEX definitely ripped me off to not pay out as much and no doubt resell my phone 3-fold.

Truly awful staff! Waited on my own to be served for over 15 mins whilst 1 staff member sorting a customer sale out and the other 3 wandered about behind the till paying no attention to me waiting to buy a game! Not the first time I put it back on the shelf and left. SORT YOUR STAFF OUT!!

1 star is being generous. Staff on the till are useless . The lad I saw today didn?t know how to say hello just stood there & looked at me whilst I explained what I was there for didn?t respond just starting to scan my receipt. The boy on the till stood there & looked at me didn?t say a word I had to drag any response out of him, then when I said to forget about it I?ll have my item back he just looked at me & didn?t confirm he?s cancel it on the system just stood there looking vacant bored and totally uninterested. I asked if he was going to cancel it he again started to do something in the screen but didn?t say anything. If you?re going to employ staff at the bare minimum they should be able to say hello & actually hold a basic dialogue !!!! Never again!

If i could give this place zero i would !
Went in to sell my iphone to then get told that theyd need to do a bank transfer because they cant do cash anymore over 50
After agreeing a price and signing they then decided to try and change it!
Then getting emails to say my information is wrong which it wasnt
And then now apparently theyve payed me and i havent even received the money for it

Just been into Telford branch and appalled at the service. Stood in a que to buy for 25 minutes. 5 members of staff on and no one was selling stock. In the end whilst in the que I ordered it off amazon. You ask.people to support physical stores but you don't serve them after sending me a cover reprinted out online on a £52 game and now this you get a 1 star.

Do not buy anything from cex ,I took my grandsons metaquest back which I brought him for Christmas, right hand control stopped working. The man checking for the fault swapped my head set ,do not buy from them they say you get 5 years guarantee load of rubbish.

So we went to buy my daughter a birthday present.... after seeing a laptop we liked in the window, we then que'd for what felt like an eternity... the staff didn't seem to be in any rush what's so ever which started our experience of nicely..
Once the laptop was shown to us, very little help or guidance was given on the setup or features the device had.
We had been in the shop for well over 20mins at this point so we decided to buy it, and if for whatever reason our daughter didn't like it, we were told there were some options of return.
When asked if we would like a bag, we answered yes, to which.... the laptop was put into a paper bag which broke and was dropped and became damaged....
Now after paying for an item I cannot have due to the damage, after 10 minutes of the staff conversing and laughing about it, I'm now down ££ which won't be returned to my bank for a few days and NO PRESENT
Not a good experience and would suggest some customer service training to sales staff.

Wouldn't even give the place 1 star. I used as it states you Drop and go so you don't que to be told by a young girl with glasses red/ginger hair I'd have to get in the cue after waiting 25 minutes at there desk it says to ring the bell for drop and go. My laptop collected to the Internet fine as I was sending emails off it. Bring it in to be sold but can't be sold because can't get past the Internet stage. So now I can't use the laptop. What a absolute joke of a place
