Food was cold. I ordered a bap and it was cold and dry, my mum ordered a panini and it came with the cheese not fully melted and was again cold and dry, it also wasn't toasted properly.
We were still hungry as the portions are also extremely small for what you pay so we decided to have a cake and a biscuit and both were again very dry. The sponge of the cake wasn't soft and quite hard and dry as if it was days old, same for the biscuit which had an odd texture. Very expensive for what we got however the view and service was good.

Absolutely fantastic scones I?d heard that an Australian couple One of whom was a scone judge said the scones were the best he?d ever tasted . He wasn?t wrong especially if you get your timing right and they?re fresh from baking ??. Hidden gem in the old hospital great views from the outside terrace over the river and the old football ground ??

A lovely day sat out on the terrace with river views.
Unfortunately it was really busy as a hen party group was there, so this might be a rather false review.
The food was nice but unfortunately service was rather slow and a lot of the breakfast items were rather cold.

Waited over an hour for simple breakfast order. Ended up asking for money back and leaving as still no sign of food and staff unable to say when it would be ready. There was a large group in but cafe was by no means full. Most disappointing was the lack of communication and apology for delay.

After a long walk exploring Shrewsbury, I came across a charming little spot called The River View Café. It offers a beautiful view of the river and has a warm, cozy ambiance that made it a perfect place to relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming as I arrived. I ordered a hot chocolate and a tuna melt panini?both were delicious. I sat outside, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the peaceful riverside view. The café is tucked inside The Parade Shopping Centre, making it a hidden gem worth seeking out. I?ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Visited today with my dad. We had a coffee each and I had a brownie. The setting is lovely although the river view is somewhat limited. However, my latte one shot was the best I?ve had in a long time and the brownie was massive (compared to a lot of cafes), it was so moist and a slight crispy outside. Our order was brought to us which means no battling with a tray to your table. Highly recommend a visit to while away some time.

Very disappointed. Sandwich was OK but soup only lukewarm. They did heat it back up fir myself and friend. Cake OK but very expensive for the size of it. Drinks were OK. They did apologise though but even so will NOT be visiting again. I was violently sick and in bed for 15 hours when I got home. Nice view but no good if food doesn't com up to scratch.

Just returned from having afternoon tea and can not rate this cafe highly enough. Beautiful location and view, exquisite and delicious food and attentive, friendly staff. A real gem in the heart of Shrewsbury. Will definitely be back.

I recently ordered a black forest gateau from the river view cafe for a birthday after receiving several recommendations on Facebook. The service and communication was brilliant throughout and it was very easy to collect. The gateau looked absolutely amazing; exactly what I wanted if not more! I was told when I collected that the lady that had made it had come into work early hours that morning to finish it off - which just goes to show the effort that they make for their customers! The price was very reasonable too, I would have been happy to pay more!
I would highly recommend and would definitely order from here again??X
