I have eaten at the Peach Tree numerous times before and have always had good experiences. However our recent tip couldn?t have been more different; the food was cold, the menu was significantly shorter than it was previously, and service was slow. A shame as we used to love coming here

We booked an afternoon tea yesterday for my friends 30th birthday.
When we arrived we stood by the door and were completely ignored. We went to the bar and was told someone would be with us shortly . About 10 mins later we were asked what we wanted and I said we had booked the afternoon tea. We were told to grab a couple of menus and go and pick a seat.
We were confused about why we needed a menu because there wasn't an afternoon tea option on it.
We waited for about 20 minutes (the room was absolutely freezing with the air con on) and saw the male waiter go and serve the table in the corner. (There was only that table and our table in the restaurant). He went and collected their drinks and said he would be with us shortly . A female came over wearing a hoodie and leggings and asked us what we would like. I said we had booked to come for an afternoon tea and she said "oh I haven't come to take yours" and went to the table in the corner. They told her they had already ordered and she then walked away, straight past us again.
I asked her what was going on , she said "I haven't got a clue but I'll ask him".
The male waiter came back and served the other table again, on the way back i asked him if he was going to see to us and he said he would check . He came back through and said the order had gone through to the kitchen. We weren't asked if we had any allergies etc.
He then walked off and came back a short time after asking what drinks we wanted.
A short time after that our food came, which was ok in fairness. We weren't offered any plates so had to use the saucer from the drinks.
Nobody checked on us throughout to see if everything was OK with the food or if we wanted anything else.
I feel we would have better service at mcdonalds . The peach tree used to have a great reputation but I feel it's gone massively down hill. The staff looked as though they had just been dragged in off the street if I'm being honest.

I was looking forward to going again to this lovely restaurant after an amazing Christmas dinner last year. Being vegan they really pulled it out of the bag! However I was recently there for an afternoon tea & all I can say is how poor it was in comparison to my previous experience. The vegan afternoon tea was very disappointing It looked like someone had been to the supermarket grabbed a couple of bagels & some fake meat & served it with some salad (the smallest I?ve ever seen!) with some packet cheap cakes too! Lack of thought showed & the service was not much better either! No decaf coffee or alternative milks also! Such a different experience this time around. I was someone?s guest otherwise I would have refused to pay for it. Wish I had taken pictures to post how poor it was! Everyone else?s looked absolutely amazing! Which made it even worse that mine was tasteless & lacking. In today?s world veganism is main stream now & this restaurant clearly needs to put more thought into customers ( we pay good money to eat there!!) dietary requirements! Sad to say I wont be going there again or would recommend it to any vegans either! What I would recommend is maybe the staff take some customer service training too! When people ask for specific things it could be due to health reasons & they would be well to remember that!
Such a disappointment if something I was really looking forward to

Was really looking forward to a vegan afternoon tea at my friends mums wake. We were celebrating a lovely lady?s life with something she would have loved
However underwhelming is not the word! The vegan serving was so disappointing. It looked like someone had been to the supermarket bought a few bagels some fake meat & added a token small salad along with some packet cakes! No alternative milks or decaf coffee either & the service was not great either. I wouldn?t recommend this restaurant if you are vegan. Lack of thought & care showed in the food unyet they charge premium price for it!
Such a different experience when we had Xmas lunch there last year. Won?t be going back in a hurry for sure or recommending them to anyone soon

A lovely building, but let down by appalling service. We were a party of 7 for afternoon tea and the exprience couldn't have Been any worse. We sat down at 1pm and were not offered any drinks. The afternoon tea plates came at 115 but with no tea.At 130 we asked for the tea which eventually arrived at 145 with no sugar. The milk was on the turn and started floating on the tea. This is where it got really bad. There was nobody at the bar, so to find a waitress we even tried to ring the venue using mobile phones but no answer. We wanted more drinks including wine or champagne as this was a celebration but nobody was anywhere to be seen.During this time we also saw people walk in and wait and walk out again.Eventually we just decided to pay and leave and the glass of water we asked for nearly two hours before suddenly appeared in a warm glass.Needless to say we left no tip and won't return.Such a shame but such poor service.

Booked afternoon tea for 18 people for my daughters hen party. Service was poor had to ask for milk for the tea and an extra place because they had forgot one so not sure if we were given the food for this extra person. Scones were lovely however the cakes looked like shop bought traybakes cut into squares. Asked for cocktails to be told they could only do one type. Staff were very pleasant but didn't seem to know much about serving customers in the catering business. I won't be rushing back sadly it doesn't seem up to the standard of the previous owners.

No record of my booking, only breakfast menu available on a Friday evening! Food wasn't too bad but order totally messed up, items missing, no reduction in price offered just insincere apology. Service dreadful average age of all staff members around 16. No one in charge. Wont be rushing back.

This place used to be really good and well run now it isn't a friend had organised a get together and we had paid £23 room and buffet the buffet was truly awful, tired looking dried sandwiches little choice and a member of bar staff clearly not meant to be in hospitality (we don't do 3 tuns, virtually pitching for a confrontation) they did do it nxt door on their other bar!
