A lovely, homely place that caters for night out drinks and a fancy gourmet meal. We've been going for drinks and our anniversary lunches. The next door bakery has a variety of pies and pastries, not to mention amazing bread. The food is excellent and keeps us coming back. Keep up the great menu, service and atmosphere guys.

My other half and I stayed here overnight as we were attending a function close by. I grew up and went to junior school in Upton Magna, and are frequent visitors to the village. However, I have never been in or stayed at The Haughmond until last night. It is a really lovely place, the attention to detail is absolutely spot on. The standard of our room and the cleanliness was to a very high standard. All of the staff were exceptional, especially the guy who booked us in, and the ladies who served breakfast were just amazing. The breakfast, what can I say, this was beautiful (see photos). We didn't stay for evening meal, as we had already eaten, however next time we stay we will have the evening meal. The following morning, we did an 11km circular taking in Haughmond Hill and the surrounding area and returned to The Haughmond cafe for a well-earned coffee before our long drive home.

We have dined regularly at the Haughmond, we love the menu and the atmosphere. This weekend as a treat for my birthday my husband booked us the Boris room. We had dinner bed and breakfast.Dinner was the usual high standard, but breakfast was absolutely amazing. The room was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. We and the dog had the best nights sleep in a long time and woke up to bird song. A lovely stroll around the village before breakfast set us up for the day.I look forward to doing it again.

Very elevated food scene in the dining room. I was impressed with the range and quality. I heard the breakfast is fantastic too.

This is a fabulous place to stay and dine. Very comfortable, spacious rooms with great views of the Shropshire countryside and a short distance from Shrewsbury, which is an amazing city to explore. The menu selections, whilst only three or four per course, cater for most tastes, but not vegan as dairy is used in the cooking process. The quality of each course is sublime and provides truly mouth-watering flavours. We stayed for two nights and between us did our own menu tasting which was a joy. Breakfast is also on another level with home-made baked beans and tomato jam to accompany the local produce. All of the staff, in every department, are friendly and helpful as well as efficient in what they do and will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is memorable for all the right reasons. We will definitely be back and can't recommend The Haughmond highly enough.

Called into the haughmond cafe which I assume is part of the hotel. Smashing, friendly service and lovely cakes and lunch available. Dogs and muddy boots are most welcome as it seems a favourite of cyclists and dog walkers. Will definitely call in again.

Ooohh my word! Food to die for!! After what has been an awful year prior and receiving good news this week we wanted to dine somewhere special to celebrate, it was also a family members birthday. A little hiccup over booking on website at 6pm & not seen the booking when we turned up to dine at 8pm was not a problem even though the place was packed, even had a singer on who sang beautifully & was collecting money for ?stand up to cancer?(quite appropriate after our year) 3 courses each from shrimp crumpet, chicken liver parfait, mains of monkfish, cod, pork belly & desserts to fight over. We really did enjoy. Will return for sure. Would love a Sunday lunch however understand why you do not do this. Thank you

We met up for a family lunch just after Christmas - what a lovely pub! The food is excellent - so nice to see different things on the menu, but not so different that our teenage kids didn't enjoy it! Staff are really friendly - they were so accomodating when we asked if we could bring our dog (although we didn't wind up doing so). Decor really brings the place to life, with some nice quirky touches. We had 3 courses and there were delicious chocolates with the coffees too. We spent a long time over our lunch and never felt rushed. Reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back.
