Worst hotel experience , The council was demolishing a building close by and informed the hotel A weekin advance but the hotel conveniently forgot to inform me about it. As a resultI couldn?t sleep all night because of the noises and later when I complain, they just planethe council. Avoid at all cost

An absolutely awful stay. Avoid. Summary below:
- An extremely loud banging and drilling sound started at 22:45 from the multi-storey car park next door. from signs (A4 pieces of paper stuck up) I had been made aware that the car park was closed for visitors for a short time but these ?signs? said nothing about any nighttime works or noise. The noise woke me up, and when I went to reception to complain there were already three other guests there. The lady was polite and apologetic and she said to a couple of us, ?were you not told about it at check in?? Well no I certainly wasn?t. I was told that I couldn?t be moved to a different room as she said they were fully booked. I legitimately only saw one other person on my floor throughout my stay and so find it very hard to believe they were fully booked. I asked what else could be done and was given the number for customer relations. The lady on reception told me to say that ?the night staff will be able to back up what you?re saying?. However the phone line was closed.
- I asked about a restaurant reservation when I checked in at 4:30pm and was told the restaurant was fully booked. Can?t say it looked anywhere near full at around dinner time.
- Room temperature really tricky to control, was up and down.
- The toilet ran constantly like a running tap, also making it very hard to sleep.
- The WiFi was pitiful - I imagine this is because they want to make you so frustrated that you fork out the £5 for the ?ultimate WiFi?. What a joke.
I often travel for work and have always been happy with Premier Inns in other towns and cities, unfortunately this is my first really bad experience. I would tell others to avoid this hotel!

Centrally located in the centre of town however issue with parking due to some major demolition work near to hotel, informed couldn't use their parking but the multi storey behind, on arrival was told that might not be accessible the following morning, due to the ongoing work, should of been informed before booking as once booked couldn't change location. The 3 stars is for the customer support call centre, on site staff are very helpful.
Rooms: Rooms was comfortable and clean usual Premier Inn standard

Staying at the Premier Inn was very similar to flying with wizz air, or any other budget airplane company around the holidays - expensive and unpleasant.
We definitely did not feel like guests at the hotel, we were treated like paying customers at best:
sure we have parking, if you pay for it;
of course you can have breakfast, if you pay for it;
we can certainly change your towels or today up your room, if you ask us and if you are staying for more than two nights;
you can't open windows, but don't worry, room is ventilated, but it wasn't really, every time we turned on the airflow, it stopped after 20-30 minutes tops.
Overall, a very budget experience for a very full price. Staff was not great, but not super bad either. They were mostly inefficient and yet inhospitable.
Location was top notch, cleanliness left to be desired, especially in the bathroom and the way the whole room smelled.

After a weary day of travel and forgetting it was bank holiday, we had almost given up. After spotting the premier inn, my partner suggested we ask just on the off chance, thankfully we were assisted by the most helpful and marvelous Tracey!!!!.
She is a credit to the company and we will be back.

Well located hotel clean hotel. Only downside is the parking. Its quite expensive and dark. The spaces are on the small side. However it is right next to the hotel back entrance.
Walkability: Close to the river and town centre.

I was on a night shift for my first time visiting Shrewsbury, that was finished earlier than expected. The night shift manager Tracey and her colleague Alison went above and beyond to get me a room. In the early hours of the morning. The customer service I received was exceptional.
What a pleasure and grateful experience I received from both members of staff

There were only 2 rooms available on the Saturday afternoon. The price is around £20 cheaper if you book on the website instead of at the desk. We booked a premier premier room as the other room was a special access room. The premier room was no bigger than the other rooms I had stayed in at other premier inns. The only difference was the view and there was a fridge with bottled water. I was disappointed that there was only a shower and no bath. The TV was hard to use as you could not see the menu. The room was clean as I would expect. Service was quite slow but they were busy. Great location. Holiday inns are always a safe option if you are looking for a good location with parking and a clean room. The bar was the average price for a town center hotel.

City centre hotel, slightly noisy due to emergency vehicles and creaky floor boards above.
Not the usual Silent Night you get in a Premier Inn.

Very annoying that you cannot open the windows at all, not even a little bit. They say there is fresh air coming in, but you can smell the stagnant air in the corridors and rooms and it made me have a huge headache (as soon as I was going outside the hotel it was gone so I really think it?s the lack of fresh air).

Because of massive blue hordings surrounding the building the entrance was extremely hard to find. We had to drive round block twice before we spotted it just by chance. However this hotel is perfectly positioned for city center and old town which is gorgeous

Worse than my expectations. Very tired/worn finishes, furniture, and fixtures. Impact noises (like foot falls) transmit readily from the floor above. No mini-fridge, nor ice. Our room was not cleaned and no new towels provided, but we may have missed the fine print that that service needs to be requested. Room at the back looked across the alley at a parking garage. The positives are the location, friendly staff, and rooms at the back are quiet as long as your neighbors upstairs are quiet too.
