“Rooms: Beautifully decorated, comfortable and ensuite with an amazing shower with great water pressure.Food & drinks: A delicious meal in the restaurant downstairs for dinner and breakfast in the morning was stunning too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.”

“Once we found the hotel we realised we had to check in via The Alb pub , we were shown to our room in the next building . The Albert was a central location and the breakfast was delicious. It was just what we needed for a peaceful nights rest .”

“The only improvements I would suggest to the Old Post office is to let people know in advance that they are going to have to navigate to a car park if arriving by car, and that they recommend Saint Julian's car park, I think it was called. We tried to find someplace to park ended up wandering around the extremely crowded and tight City, had to pay the 24-hour rate at another public car park. All was well though, the room
was fine, the breakfast in the morning was good, and walking around Shrewsbury is amazing and inspiring. The post office is wonderfully situated to walk from. I just wish more of these hotels had deals/passes from the car park or City to place in the windscreen and get a break on parking costs!”

“We have just had a 2 night weekend break in one of the lodges. The lodge was immaculately clean, with everything you could want. There was lots of complimentry items that i thought was a lovely gesture. Including a bottle of prosecco, tea coffee, sugar ect and some lovely little cleansing produce. The site is very clean and quiet and ideal for a quite getaway. We went to have a long rest and to mentally chill, which is exactly what we did. We enjoyed the hot tub which was very relaxing. There was even a dishwasher but I am used to using my hands ?, so we didn't use it. A gusto coffee machine, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, dish cloth, tea towel and toilet rolls were all provided. I always take my own as I am not use to having them provided. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. If i could change anything, I would suggest a larger TV in the lounge and maybe exchange the two seater sofa for a three seater. This is not a negative, but just to enhance the home comforts .”

“Love coming here, such a variety of household items, staff are friendly and helpful when answering any queries, customer toilet available, lovely cafe drinks and food are very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit, the store is well organised, clean and well laid out, there is something for all ages, you are spoilt for choice. Well worth a visit.”

“Room was spacious and clean. It was surprisingly quiet, given how close you are to major roads. There is plenty of parking. Burger King, Starbucks and Asda express, and Dobbies Garden Centre are within walking distance with other shops and places to eat a short drive away.”

“It was a hotel on top of a very lively pub. Nice room and bathroom. Great service. It’s just that it can get noisy at night.
Love the breakfast. I had dinner at night there as well and it was good.”

Nearby activities: Interesting town centre, river trip is great so is the museum but avoid wimpy at all costs

Walkability: You don't need a car here
