What a lovely restaurant! Enjoyed a delicious seafood chowder for a birthday treat, the sauce was incredible. My husband doesn?t eat fish but was really happy with his chicken shish (which was a huge portion).
The service couldn?t have been more friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return if we head this way again.

Stopped by on a busy Saturday evening and Sam made an effort to fit us in around other pre booked tables. The food was tasty but the service really made it - Willow gave it a lovely personal touch and you could see she was super attentive with the other tables too. Sam you make a mean cocktail and we will definitely be back!

We are very happy to have found a genuinely superb seafood restaurant in Shrewsbury. Sam's welcome, attentiveness,courteousness, and expert knowledge of his menu (both food and drink) are second to none. And the standard of cooking is exceptional - the chef is hugely talented.
We ate sea bass and monkfish and, not only was the fish perfect in both cases, we couldn't fault any ingredient on either plate. The plates themselves were complete, and perfectly balanced.
We look forward to returning, and encourage any seafood lover to give La Mer Rouge a try - you won't be disappointed.

Really delicious food in generous portion. We ordered seafood paradedelle (pasta), marinated sea bream with fried calamari and ragout potatoes, and kid?s chicken with rice. We will definitely come back again! :)

The food was absolutely delicious.
We had the biggest oysters I have ever seen for a starter.
We both had a special. Chowder and Tagine. We were both very happy with our food.

We haven?t even left this place yet and I feel compelled to write this. The food here is beyond words! The chef is an artist! The welcome from Sam is warm, friendly and so genuine you want him to join you at your table. We had three course as part of their deal and I don?t know how they do it. The monkfish was delicious, which is just as well because it had some serious work to do to beat the scallop starter and the baklava! What can I say. We live in Bristol, over 2.5 hours away and we?re already trying to work out another reason to eat here. Don?t miss this place - we?ll be back.

Visited for the 4th time last Saturday and was not disappointed. The food is always good here, especially the fish, the service is welcoming and efficient and the desserts made us smile.

We made an impromptu visit to this warm and friendly restaurant for lunch on a day visit to Shrewsbury. We loved the colourful decor and inviting areas inside. The food was excellent and both we and our dog were made very welcome. We look forward to returning.
