Shrewsbury has scores of restaurants but only a few really stand out, HOTRS is one of the best, service and staff first class, food first class, ambience first class??.. and these standards have been maintained since it opened which proves its well managed. Keep up the good work and see you soon.

Where to begin. Firstly make sure you book, we were greeted wonderfully on arrival, and shown to a table upstairs. Drinks and wine list are really good, the staff took the time to explain the best way to order as it is essentially a "tapas" restaurant. The food arrived in stages amd was quite simply brilliant. The menu mixture of Indian, South East Asia, South America and Japan, should not work together.....but the quality and awesome flavours of all the dishes are the perfect assault on the tastebuds.
The staff are all well trained in the owners concept of what the restaurant should be and this shows everywhere in the service they give. I wish we had this restaurant where we live! It's brilliant in every way.

Me and my partner visit quite frequently and normally have a great experience however we visited in august in shrewsbury and my partner who ordered the sea bass was left with horrific food poisoning afterwards. we really loved it here but obviously cant risk it now after what happened.

We were in Shrewsbury for a few nights and this was one of the few places open at the start of the week with good veggie options. I'm so glad we ended up there.
The food and drinks were all fantastic, the service was quick and attentive. I really appreciated the constant top-up of water to drink, I wish all restaurants did that.
If we're ever in Shrewsbury again, we'll definitely be back.

Calamari was a small portion and overcooked. Duck pancakes were tasty. Draught beers were crisp. Gave too stars as value and quality were severely mismatched. Nearly £11 for overcooked calamari for a small portion is totally not reasonable. Spent £67 for 3 course meal and draught pint. If prices are high, quality must deliver too.

Great place,cosy,friendly and mindful.we where here a few years ago and knew it would be busy so booked to avoid disappointment.Place hadn't changed.The staff were great.My only grumble it was a little dark so it was hard to see what you were eating

The ambience is good. The food is ok depending on what you want to eat. Not keen on belly pork as it was not crispy just felt like eating fat and lacked of flavour. Katsu we had two portions the first one was
very nice, and the second was too salty. So need more consistency. I love lamb but I was disappointed with this one. For the 3 of us the bill came at £200 so very pricey. If you are hungry go somewhere else, if you want a snack with drinks it suits.

Came in here for lunch and had the lunch menu: rice noodles, pork belly, teriyaki sauce and garlic. It was delicious, great portion and good value. It could have done with a tiny bit more sauce.
My friend had the lobster and whilst tasty and came with salad and chips, it wasn't as filling (plus obviously more expensive).
The servers were attentive and very friendly. And our cocktails were great as well.
