Best bank excellent service

Used to be a bustling market town branch, but now so obviously being steered into decline by the decision makers at head office. Only 2 counter staff, shuts at 3pm etc etc.Feel very sorry for the remaining staff who are often being put under massive pressure, because (believe it or not) some people still want to visit a bank. I do a lot of my banking online, but I should still be able to pop into the bank I've been with for 30 years, if I'm in town and get a good quick service. Forget it - there is usually no chance, with big queues and hassled staff.No doubt, the Halifax management would say that they are scaling the Shrewsbury branch down because footfall is dropping. I would say that footfall is dropping BECAUSE they are scaling the branch down and giving customers such a poor service.

No counter service at the weekends, seems I have to be jobless to use their daytime weekly service. Very poor.

By all means, if you just love feeling like your very existence inconveniences the solitary staff member sat behind a counter filing her nails, then you should definitely come to the Shrewsbury branch of Halifax. If you wake up every morning thinking "I wish someone was here to make me feel like utter trash," then the Shrewsbury Halifax is for you too. What a stellar experience. Seriously, does anyone else work here or is it just that one grumpy lady?

Telephoned to make appointment, kept on hold for more than 10 minutes then line disconnected. I 'phoned again, only to be kept on hold for more than 25 minutes. I was then told that "they" would call me back......that was yesterday and I'm still waiting.I have to give a star in order to post this!

Closed early again today, website says 3pm they shut at 2pm, covid is always an excuse for bad service, if they can work until 2pm they can work until 3.Im a care worker and have worked through the pandemic, they need to do better.

Having checked the website this morning (Saturday 30th) the closing time said 3pm.I got there at 12:30 - closed, a sign in tge window said closes at 1pm. Another sign next to it said 11:30. So in this day and age is it too much trouble to update the site, I have cycled in 3 miles each way for nothing - its a joke.If you have a website keep it up to date

Another run in with Angela?s horrible, loud, abrasive customer service style. Why she felt the need to shout at me, with that tone, from behind the counter while I was reading information left out on the inquiry desk Is beyond me. She could of just come over stayed 2m away and spoke to me in an appropriate volume and professional manner instead of shouting and making everyone look at me. It was extremely unprofessional of her and very embarrassing for me. I left without getting the information I was seeking due to this instance.This Is not my first complaint about Angela and probably will not be my last. So, due to this I am going to be leaving Halifax. Angela makes my banking experience with the Halifax branch in Shrewsbury a painful and unpleasant experience every time I have the unfortunate luck of having to interact with her.

Trashy cashier staff. Paranoid and insolent manager. Left in disgust and transferred our current account to a mutual. What a relief to leave this ghastly bank. Is it even solvent?
