This weekend I purchased my new, high-end Specialized bike from Dave Mellor Cycles. Their exceptional customer service far surpassed my previous experiences elsewhere. From my initial phone call with Darren to reserve my desired bike, it was evident that we?d get on great. The service provided was highly tailored to my needs and preferences.
During a preliminary fitting, my ideal frame size was established. Darren thoroughly discussed all the available options and even offered a competitive package. Darren, who happens to be one of their dedicated bike fitters, said he?d even include a complimentary, comprehensive bike fit using their industry-leading IDMatch bike fitting lab equipment.
Having never had a proper bike fit before, I was aware from observing others on YouTube of its benefits. Given the usual cost of this service, I was very grateful that Darren included it at no cost to me. Furthermore, Darren informed me that if any adjustments were required during the bike fit, such as a different saddle or handlebar, he would gladly exchange these components at no cost. Crazy!
Additionally, I desired Tracer 50mm tan-wall tyres on my bike instead of the stock black-wall Tracers. I anticipated paying for this upgrade, but Dave Mellor Cycles was more than willing to perform a free swap! Furthermore, the wheels were built tubeless and with sealant, which I understand typically come stock only with tubes, again at no cost to me. I was so thankful.
On bike fit and collection day, Darren spent a good two hours with me. He?s incredibly knowledgeable and explains all the science behind the IDMatch bike fitting in a way that?s easy to understand. His history in this field is evident. Given that he provided this service at no cost, I appreciate that he still dedicated nearly two hours to my bike fit and provided me with meticulous attention. I purchased new shoes and cleats and these too were dialled in using the lab equipment. I recommend this service to everyone.
More so I wholeheartedly recommend Dave Mellor Cycles. They?re mostly a family-run business - this resonated with me since I come from a background of family-run business too. All the staff are incredibly friendly. They?re nearly all cyclists (including in competition) and it?s great to see the OG Dave still working there. From what I know about him, he has history in Olympic cycling. There is heritage there. While I travel one hour to reach Dave Mellor Cycles, they have become my bike shop!!
My bike has exceeded expectations too!!

My mum and I recently bought a bike. John was incredibly helpful, patient and knowledgeable. He ensured I had all the information to make an informed choice and was generally super kind. He made sure I received the bike on time (which was incredible considering the short timescale). Thank you so much!

Overcharged me for postage and then sent it on the slowest delivery service. Next day delivery would've cost them less than I paid.
Update to reply:
I ordered early hours on Thursday morning and you didn't dispatch until the following day. I was happy to pay for delivery but why send it on a 48hr service when you could've sent it on a 24hr next day service and still make a profit on the postage? I would've then received it on Friday rather than Monday. These days next day delivery is standard practice. You should either give customers the option for next day delivery and an economy service or just send everything on a next day service. It's 2024 come on! ? ? ?

After my son had broken his bike on the way to school i was told by a client DMC was the place to have it fixed.Dropped off around midday, fixed and my son back cycling by 3pm from school.Cant fault that service or the pricing at all.Would 100% use again.

What a great service . Really nervous about getting my ice trike serviced as the provider of my trike is no longer in business. No idea why I worried, amazing service, knowledgeable super friendly staff. They even collected my trike. Thank you so much I will definitely be back. I?ve had 3 different bike fits over the years. I can very confidently say that the idmatch one from Dave Mellor Cycles was easily the best. The ability to change saddles so quickly is a game changer. Let alone getting my position dialled in so accuratelyErick was a pleasure to deal with and the shop looked fantastic. I have recommended the service to club mates & don?t hesitate in recommending it to you
