A good outdoor clothing and equipment shop with friendly members of staff and regular offers.
Also the branch serves as a collection point for the disasterous UPS courier service. If you are unfortunate enough to be a victim of UPS, have no calling card or reference/tracking number, take some ID along to Blacks and the helpful assistants will take every measure to help you out.

Went in to look at the rather limited range of North Face jackets. Found my dream coat in an evolve 2 and sales person was super patient while tried on the large vs x large, taking out the fleeced on both and temp removing the security tags. Could I have got it slightly cheaper than if I scoured online and taken a risk at guessing the size? Yes, probably, but 1 I got it there and then and 2 I got some nice service and could try it on first.. bravo Blacks nice service and selection!

We were served by Stef, she was very sweet and helped us the best she could due to there being a lack of winter options. She looked into all the options for us and went out of her way to check stock aswell. Great customer service. Thanks Stef!! X

I searched for sandals for partner found pair here amazing 28 pound but visited go outdoors over road which was 25pound because not member would of cist 60 pound how ridiculous

I bought a down jacket from Blacks in Shrewsbury, it was the only one because I had been informed it was a special order the customer did not want (Obsidian Acid colour). I was happy with the price. I decided after a couple of days I wanted another colour( Navy Orange). I collected it from their shop in Shrewsbury. I was not feeling too well that day so was dithering about which one to take. Eventually I chose the other colour that had come from general stock. They clipped off the label and I walked out, After looking in a mirror up the road, I realised I wanted the original colour(Obsidian Acid). I went back to the shop but it had closed because it was after 5.30. I went in a couple of days later on Saturday, and explained everything to an assistant. He said I will put it aside and talk to the manager after the weekend. I went in on the Tuesday and spoke to the manager. He told me head office had requested the jacket and it was no longer available. I went in the shop on Thursday to browse and I noticed the same jacket that reportedly had been sent to head office was back on the rails for sale. I asked to speak to the manager and I was told he was busy. The manager told the assistant on the internal phone system that the jacket I wanted had been ordered on the internet. So they could not exchange it. I informed the assistants that I was told that 2 days ago, it is now on the rails for sale, and you are telling me it has been ordered on the internet, when it is not even your regular stock. I told them I would accept it if you had just told me you do not wanted to exchange the jacket but I do not like this unacceptable behaviour. I reported the shops behaviour to head office and they agreed with me it was not acceptable.
