“I turned up with a small obscure key for a Thule bike rack; I needed a spare. I'already been told it was likely to prove irreplaceable, by the 'other place' in town. I turned up at Timpsons with little hope of success.The young woman behind the counter was busily engaged helping an elderly lady; fitting an unusual battery into a watch for her.She was due to go for her lunch break, but chose to serve me anyway. I showed her the key, and after having a look she stated that she thought that she could help. She then spent 5 minutes searching through the key templates for the best match. She found something close, although not quite the correct profile, but she chose to put the template through the key cutter anyway.Once the key was cut she simply handed it to me, stating 'I'm not sure if this will work, but please try it anyway, and maybe it'll be fine'. She wouldn't take any payment; I thanked her and took the key to try out.The key didn't quite work at first, but with a little dressing with a couple of needle files, the key worked perfectly.I will of course be goi⅝ng back to the shop to pay, and thank her for doing more than she had to to help resolve the problem. It would have been much easier for her to have said that she couldn't help, especially so as the small shop filled up with three other people as I watched the key being cut.So much for her hope of a lunch break, but she gave no indication ofi impatience or frustration with this.Great service and a really helpful attitude; can't recommend this place highly enough.Give them a try; if she's there she'll do all that she can to help.”
