A surprise £3 parking fee is landed on you at the reception desk despite no mention of it on the website/car park signs. This is in bad faith and against consumer regulations! Made the entrance fee of £10 each not worth it for what is essentially a gift shop and all the best sculptures are quickly seen on the drive up to the car park. I should add that while it is free entry and food deals through the week, weekend visitors I.e. working people are penalised with entry prices £8.50 each and food twice the price, which stings

Had a lovely big breakfast with a couple of friends. The staff were all very friendly and service was prompt. The breakfasts were only £5 and the portions were generous. Good coffees too and yummy chocolate truffle to go with them. Nice to have a leisurely browse around the eclectic mix of goods in the showrooms afterwards. Walked my dog around the sculpture park which both of us loved. We're very lucky to have all this on our doorstep.

Excellent place to visit. Plenty of sculptures and a lovely cafe with great food and friendly service. Will definitely go again in warmer months to spend more time there.

We found this when were up looking to buy a house in the area and, having now moved here, have returned many times. Always a favourite place to take friends and to send our B&B guests for a day out. There's inevitably something to see that we missed on a previous visit, not matter how carefully we think we looked! Cafe portions are very generous, and there are plenty of quirky things in the shopping areas to keep everyone happy.

A Great Day Out for all ages! The sculpture park is a great place to wonder around. Not missing the knife angel and other brilliantly constructed statues! Afternoon tea is definitely not to be missed along with the quirky items on display to purchase in the shop. Ourselves and our guests at our holiday cottage love to visit here when staying.

I must preface this review by stating that I hate giving bad feedback. However, on this occasion we believe that it is more than justified. My wife & I visited with our 4 young grandchildren during half term, along with one of our daughter in laws. Our 8 year old grandson had warned us that it was not a pleasant experience. But we, sadly, chose to ignore him.On arrival we were confronted with over spill parking, which wouldn't have been a problem normally. However, on this occasion the ground was sodden & many vehicles, once driven onto the grass, were finding it very difficult indeed to get off! ( there was a sign which told people to park leaving two wheels on the hard surface, but this wasn't in a prominent enough position).Once out of the car the next problem was a lack of appropriate directional signage.Having purchased our tickets & parking we stumbled into what appeared to be a shop & only exited via a fire door, after having asked a member of staff! The 'map' provided did absolutely nothing to assist us, as we struggled to work out an obvious & logical way to see all of the exhibits.I eventually resorted to asking a member of staff to assist. He told us to revisit the ticket area, go through the shop & passed a large white marquee! Needless to say this proved completely fruitless and we ended up having to exit again via the fire door, which was now propped open!!We eventually figured out that you effectively had to risk walking on or by the exit road in order to view the exhibits. This would be dangerous at anytime, but with 4 young children in tow it was extremely difficult to say the least. On the topic of 'dangerous', a word of warning with regard to many of the exhibits. By their very nature they consist of metal, but I couldn't help but notice that far too many appeared to have sharp points & edges, which could, given the conditions underfoot, have proved deadly to anyone who was unfortunate enough to fall/slip in their direction ( one very large axe head in particular was at the perfect height to skewer a child!).We lasted just over an hour, which for the £26+ spent was not, in our collective view, good value for money or indeed the pleasant half term experience that we had been looking for.Lastly, I note that the parking voucher states that 'all proceeds go to grounds care'. I take it that does not include the 'surface' of the over spill car parking?!Date of experience: 14th February 2024

Just love visiting the ironworks centre. I have visited the ironworks in the past but I have now moved to the area and I visit regularly. The sculptures are amazing and all made from recycled material, The cake and coffee in the cafe is amazing, the show room shop has some very unique gifts/items to purchase. I have have now become a member As I enjoy visiting her very much, I also bring a young man I support with disabilities here and he loves it to especially the minions it is accessible to wheelchair users. Even though it can be a bumpy ride on the gravel. ?

The New piece is very distasteful.....supporting Terrorism and virtue signalling at its best. I don't care who you think is right or wrong in this very complicated situation but you shouldn't openly be supporting one side over another

We love the ironworks centre, nice place for a look around and a lovely little cafe. Small play area for the kids too. The man in the gem shop is amazing, my son loves rocks and he had a good chat with him about all the different types when we came in the summer. Unfortunately he was closed the next time we went so we'll have to try again next time!We came in september specifically for afternoon tea for my birthday. Wow! So much food, niceky presented and really tasty. Definitely recommend.

Excellent family day out, great food . Brilliant live music. Great gift shop. Unfortunately it was let down by a staff member who was very rude to people. She firstly snatched a drink out of a lady's hand saying you can't bring your own drinks inside. I appreciate those are the rules however there are ways of doing things. You don't just snatch out of someone's hand a half drank drink.Later on we were browsing the shop, decided to get the 2 kids a painting set and the same lady staff member followed us around the entire store for the entire duration, I had the items in my hand in readyness to pay, we walked by the bit where the toilets are and the recycling Tubs were. She then basically accused me of trying to steal the items. Me and my wife couldn't get our breath. Felt like complaining but didn't want to ruin a good day.

The online service is faultless. We are delighted with our coal scuttle.Later we bought a weather vane. It is very well made, but our gift was duplicated, so we asked for a refund. A delightful person quickly answered the phone & there was no quibble about a refund.I can't praise this company highly enough.
