Really lovely place: we had three starters to share while we sat outside in the peaceful garden. Really delicious food, and much to my surprise the low alcohol beer (Hobsons) was very good too.

Overall atmosphere was okay, but the whole ordeal was totally unacceptable,we booked in advance and arrive and we're seated quite quickly, boths chairs on our tables were wobbly and unstable to the point of us having to swap them out, the selection of drinks were quite poor. When it came to ordering food, the service was slow with us waiting over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived there were a litany of issues with the portions being incredibly small for the price and most of the foo being cold or like warm we orded steak medium rare and it came out blue and under cooked the pork was dry and greasy and all of the food was over salted and potatoes were burnt and chips were soggy and undercooked we sent the steak back and when the new one arrived it was grisly and fatty. We were bit the only ones with this issues the table sat next us also had many problems, with getting a wrong order and issues with there food. Really not impressed by this when we have heard so many good things about this pub

The food is top notch (you get what you pay for in my experience). Service is usually first class, although the last time we visited, I had my plate whisked away just as the last forkful was going in my mouth! The atmosphere is lovely if you sit in the restaurant or tucked round the corner, however if you want a nice quiet or romantic meal, or have children with you, it's best to not sit near the bar. Some of the regulars use some 'colourful' language & also vape at the bar. We love the food & drive quite some distance for a treat but the bar-dwellers are unsavoury!

Excellent Community Pub, went there last Sunday in a group of 12 for the first time since relaunch and it didn't disappoint.
Ordered roast beef and was offered rare to well done and my rare choice was perfect.
Quick attentive service, excellent food, atmosphere, and lovely outdoor area ?
