“I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this store yesterday. I’m a narrowboater and just wanted to stock up on all the basics. Another well known supermarket which is slightly closer to the canal had badly let me down with its poor stock. Frustrated, I found Iceland which had everything I needed and more, crucially the prices were also much fairer. The staff were lovely too. Well done Iceland.”

“Aldi (stylised as ALDI)[6] is the common company brand name of two German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chains operating over 12,000 stores in 19 countries.[7][8] The chain was founded by brothers Karl and Theo Albrecht in 1946, when they took over their mother's store in Essen. The business was split into two separate groups in 1960, that later became Aldi Nord, headquartered in Essen, and Aldi Süd, headquartered in Mülheim.[9][10]In 1962, they introduced the name Aldi (a syllabic abbreviation for Albrecht Diskont),[11] which is pronounced [ˈaldiː] ⓘ. In Germany, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd have been financially and legally separate since 1966, although both divisions' names may appear as if they were a single enterprise with certain store brands or when negotiating with contractor companies. The formal business name of Aldi Nord is Aldi Einkauf GmbH & Co., while the formal business name of Aldi Süd is ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. Each company is owned and operated independently, but they do have contractual business with one another.[12]”

“I was'nt in there food shopping,I go there mostly for post office services. The chap who does this service is very efficient, its far easier than going down to the main post office in the town, and it is also easy to park, whereas down the town its a nightmare finding a place, unless you pay in the council carparks.”

“Customer service staff were nice enough. No public toilets & car park is 1 hour maximum stay or you get fined. Doesn't feel like any Asda I'm used to as it's smaller than any I've been in before although it's not small & it has an older more village feel about it, that's just my perception anyhow and that's a nice thing. Thank you to the staff who tried to help but couldn't really do very much about my problem with a refund from a different store :-) They do do parcels collection & deliveries & of orders”

“Me and the Missus turned up to buy some bread and milk. Well I wanted seeded batch and lacto-free stuff and she wanted Warburtons toastie and BoB. Ironic that we were at Loggerheads with each other. We compromised and bought crumpets and gold top.”

“I want to commend Jackie in the delicatessen. Always has a smile and goes out of her way to provide great service. She knows how much I love the jalopena scotch eggs but there are rarely any left when I go. So she walked me over to the cheese counter where some had been packaged up that I would never have seen. She is a joy to deal with and I hope she gets some recognition for giving great service.”

“Food is usually good, served hot and in good time. Fish and chips are surprisingly some of the best I've tried that isn't from a traditional fish and chip shop too!Staff are always friendly and on hand to help with anything. The pricing is good too, inexpensive and decent portion sizes too.”
