£6 for a "large" chips cheese and gravy ? portions are small and £6 is a joke. Barley and cheese or gravy and the chips had no flavour. Anyone rating this place any higher than 1 star haven't been to a chippy outside market drayton ?

What was once a great chippy 1980s to 2000's has gone down hill. Large fish is a medium in real terms and thin ta boot. The chips were average with a lot of very small off cuts. I suppose when there is no competition since Dales shut down you can offer the least for the most £'s. Don't think it will ever get near the chip shop of the year title but with a captive audience I don't suppose the owners care which shows.

I very ralely go to chippy. But i went got a large chips and 2 large curry sauce . Was over ten pounds.! Most chips had an eye or black spot on it.also sloppy Large curry sauce at £1.20 was very small. I bought two....tasted not very nice either. Also i had to wait for chips about 5 to 10 min .So whether I am too picky , or I went on a bad day I don't know but I don't think I would go there again at the price verses quality ..Parking: Large car park a few meters away free for 30min.so should be okay

My wife and I went to Cookie's for lunch today for the first time since we moved to the town 4 years ago. The whole expérience was terrific. The restaurant is very clean and fresh, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We had cod, chips and mushy peas. The chips were golden and cooked to perfection, the cod was white, succulent and cooked in a light and crispy batter - not a hint of grease or sogginess. The last bite was every bit as good as the first. A very enjoyable expérience. Try it - you'll like it!
