Booked this for a night away to celebrate our wedding anniversary, little did we know they had inflated the price by an extra £100 due to Olly murs playing at the castle which I wouldn?t mind if it was worth it but unfortunately I feel ripped off, the staff I can?t complain about tbh but the hotel is at the bottom of a big hill 25% incline which was ok for me but my wife struggled with her knees,
The hotel is also in need of a spruce up as it?s quite dated, wood chip wallpaper etc, the room was also looking tired but the bed was terrible, possibly the worst bed I have ever slept in we both woke with bad backs & necks, my side dipped a lot in the middle and I tossed & turned all night there is no bottled water given just glasses from the bathroom tap.
We went out into town at night and on return at 9.45pm considering the hotel was full everywhere was locked up, no bar or anywhere to get any type of drink (even water)
The restaurant claims to be 4 star AA rosette so come breakfast time we were looking forward to a nice breakfast, we were so wrong, my wife had a full English, burnt mushrooms and she said the sausage were horrible and bacon not much better along with the cheapest beans available hence she left most of it, I?m a celiac so I opted for the haddock & scrambled egg with two pouched eggs on the side, both pouched eggs like bullets and my toast burnt to black, I also had another piece of toast with jam, the staff were aware I was gf but the jam seamed very very solid like one solid blob which made me think did it have gluten as the occasional jam can have but knowing the staff knew I was gf I thought it can?t have so I had some then 1.5 hours later I spent the next 4 hours in pain so it obviously did have gluten which means it?s very very cheap jam, glad we didn?t eat there at night which we had planned but due to location we didn?t so not to have to walk back into town up the hill again, wise choice because if breakfast was that poor then god help anyone having a evening meal there, would I go back to Ludlow, definitely yes, would I book this hotel again, definitely not!

Room was nice small bathroom. Meal in restaurant in evening was tasty but would prefer a proper meal for price 6 little dots of pink and white does not replace veg, the duck was lovely but would have liked a sauce with it. The breakfast wasnt nice , poached eggs were over cooked and beans were tasteless , couldn't eat it, staff were lovely

Lovely location. Very clean room with great shower and very comfortable bed.
A bit disappointed with the restaurant. The food was lovely but the restaurant itself was soulless. It felt bare like eating in a canteen.

Stayed 16th for two nights for the second year running. Nice welcome, in a peaceful location. The hotel is clean and the food is very good. Rooms are very nice and clean with good facilities. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and the Cliffe is one of the nicest I have stayed in. There are quite a few places to see around and about so I would definitely recommend the

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and comfortably decorated, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The food was surprisingly good for a hotel of this size ? fresh, nicely prepared, and with a good selection for different tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Overall, a great value option for anyone looking for a comfortable, no-fuss stay with good food and welcoming service. Would happily return.

A great find. Ludlow is a lovely town and The Cliffe is a brilliant find. Quiet, easy parking, great value, tasty dinner and breakfast (if a little limited for vegetarian choices).

This was our 3rd stay and we are never disappointed. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. Staff are friendly and have plenty of local knowledge. The food here is beautiful. Our expectations are always met. The combination of flavours showcases the chefs knowledge of his art. We would highly recommend here.
It is located about a 10 minute walk from the town centre. There is a steep hill to get into town unless you take a longer route down the Linney.
We look forward to our next visit ?

We had a lovely Sunday roast here. The service was quick and all the food was delicious. There wasn?t really a comfortable area for sitting before/after the meal - like a ?cosy? bar area or anything. But everything else was lovely!

Had a family birthday lunch on 26 October. Made very welcome and offered drinks and shown to our table. Sadly we were the only ones dining. Service was excellent as was the meal of venison fillet for 2 of us and chicken for the other two. All meals served on a bed of roasted vegetables and we were offered more green veg. Sauce with all meals was delicious. Dessert were also excellent and varied. Our table was in a sunny position overlooking the countryside. Altogether a special experience. Would highly recommend the Cliffe Hotel at Dinham.
