We had sunday lunch with friends 24th August 2025. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and the service was quick. Although the pub was busy it never felt crowded and staff kept all the tables clean and available.
Highly recommend.

We are fishermen from Yorkshire,enjoy good food and good service, Tom and his staff certainly provide both, excellent place that we visit a week at a time, twice a year. Highly recommended.

Probably the best fish (fish and chips) I've ever had. Never took a picture unfortunately. But it was super fresh and tasty. Perfect batter, fish just flaked off.
Go hungry though. The portion sizes are enormous! I ate all my fish but couldn't get through half the chips, salad and peas.
Staff were SO lovely and attentive, friendly, helpful. I just couldn't ask for more. Wish I'd known and tried many years ago.

We're a party of 4 ladies who were meeting up at the pub. The landlord, Tom and his merry crew were fantastic and welcoming. We had a bit of a drama as our friends were in a collision on the way to the pub and were running really late. The pub kept the kitchen open for us so that we could eat and the food was good wholesome pub food (very large portions). The customers in the pub were really friendly and helpful and there's a lovely atmosphere at the Eagle & Serpent .. for those of a certain age, this is my 'Cheers' pub where everybody knows your name. Thank you to Tom and the gang. We'll be back!

Met a friend for lunch here today and had a really nice, freshly prepared meal, in a cosy setting with a roaring fire and cheerful, helpful staff.
On a bitterly cold day it was the warmest of welcomes!

Great value good pub grub. First time visiting even though we live locally. Smallish menu but done well, which is the main thing! Service was excellent, had a lovely chat with the owner. Good beer too. Nice atmosphere in the lounge/restaurant area and the bar seemed lively - especially if you like a game of darts!

Enjoyed a great meal here yesterday with our walking club after a beautiful walk around Kinlet. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, the service was very good even though the place was full. Will certainly return.

Me & friend went there for an evening meal on Sunday and the food was fantastic, the best burger I have had for years and my mate had the surf & Turf which was also a great meal.
The Manager Tom if I remember was such a lovely pleasant guy with a great sense of humour was a great host.
It was a pleasure visiting this lovely Country Pub in Kinlet which I will definitely return again.
