Recently had an extremely tasty meal for my husband?s birthday. It looks like the restaurant has had a makeover - very cosy log fire was lit for our arrival. Helpful and friendly service. We ate from the set menu. Plenty of food and nothing we didn?t like.

?I strongly urge everyone to avoid Doh Persian Cuisine at the Old Hall in Dorrington. I was horrified by the conditions in the kitchen, which were absolutely unacceptable. Rat feces were visibly present in the cooking and prep areas?an unforgivable health and safety violation that should immediately disqualify this establishment from serving food to the public.
The food itself was equally appalling?poorly prepared, tasteless, and clearly made with little regard for quality or hygiene. It?s shocking that a place like this is allowed to operate under such unsanitary conditions.
This restaurant urgently needs to be inspected by health authorities. The public deserves better than to risk their health eating at a place that shows such blatant disregard for basic cleanliness and food safety. I highly recommend steering clear of this establishment until these issues are addressed and resolved.?

Complex, superbly balanced flavours, absolutely delicious. Warm but unobtrusive service. Easy parking on site. Recommend highly.

Had a brilliant meal here. On a tuesday evening in early November. We were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived, and while initially dubious, we had a fantastic meal. All the food was fresh and delicious, and it was wonderful to try the selection of dishes available. I really think the restaurant could benefit from some clearer advertising, but we were genuinely impressed. Many thanks!

Tired of curries and indiscernible flavours we tried this Persian restaurant. The flavour combinations were, as the chef stated on the menu, all his own recipes. The Ghormeh Sabzi, ( vegetarian/ vegan/ gf) considered by some as a Persian national dish, the Lamb Nihari and the lamb shank ( understandably needing to be ordered 6 hours in advance)were exceptional complemented by authentic naan the like ( and size) of which we have experienced nowhere else in our UK dining experience. Diners whether vegetarian, gluten intolerant or avid carnivores will find dishes to please prepared and served by those who have grown up in Persia/ Iran with skills probably learnt in their mother's kitchen.

This was our second visit to this restaurant. Both times, the food has been outstanding. It's an interesting menu - similar to Indian with some common spices and methods - but altogether distinctive, authentic and delicious. You can select the level of spicy heat. Every dish seems to be freshly prepared, with freshly ground spices. As we all know, this is very unusual in most Indian restaurants! The service is really friendly and charming. Plenty of easy parking. It's about 15 mins drive from centre of Shrewsbury. The wine list is quite broad in choice - good staples plus a few good unusual wines, like Massaya from Lebanon. Try this place - it's really good!

We recently stayed nearby. Since reading the menu online we'd been looking forward to eating here. With so many delicious choices on the menu we opted for the tasting banquet. We phoned ahead the day before as we wanted an early evening takeaway. On arrival at the restaurant we were personally welcomed by the chef who said he was just cooking our meal with fresh ingredients, the aromas from the kitchen were very encouraging. Once back at our accommodation we unpacked our feast. Many different dishes all of which had their own unique aromatic flavour. Delicious. We even forwarded the menu and photos to a friend with Persian / Iranian heritage who says she'd love to join us but was sadly over 200 miles away. A truly fantastic meal and we can't wait to return on our next holiday. Thank you.

My husband and I were looking for a halal place to eat in Mid Wales and came across Old Hall Persian. Very glad we did as the food was incredible. Whilst we did wait a while for the food, it came out fresh and every dish was tasty. Safe to say this is one of the best places I have dined.
