Review for the Curly Tail apartment. A well provided single room and bathroom. Well laid out and appointed. Bed comfortable and bathroom clean. All on ground floor with parking very close.
An adequate light breakfast dropped in each day with clean pots.

We had a lovely stay at the Curly Tails. The room was perfect, very clean, cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was well thought out, there was so much we took some with us to eat on our journey. We would love to stay again

Had a fantastic weekend here celebrating my 50th. What a beautiful little village too. The venue was fantastic and we made memories to last. Lots of things to do and very nice accommodation, very spacious and a very traditional pub. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Recently organised a stag do weekend here at the Boars Head. The pub couldn't have been better suited. Accommodation on site was great, and the pub facilities were exactly what we needed for a weekend of drinks, games, sports (6 nations, football etc) and generally having a good laugh.
Before we even arrived, Darren was more than helpful in recommendations for the local area and generally ensuring we were ready for the weekend.
We ordered beer through Darren at a perfectly reasonable price, and he kindly came to change some of the barrels throughout the weekend near enough as soon as we asked.
Lots of talk of wanting to come back again!
Having read the other reviews, my advice would be if you're reasonable with Darren and clean up after yourselves, he's more than reasonable with you.

A M A Z I N G!
We simply could not have wished for a better stay, it was even better than we imagined and were in disbelief of how lucky we were to have found The Boars Head!
Darren, the owner was quick to reply with any questions we had pre arrival and extremely helpful. We had paid for a keg of Guinness on arrival and this was installed ready for us.
As a large group it was perfect, many rooms and all clean and tidy on arrival and the hot tub was fabulous, a few people came to check it regularly and give it a clean who were all very friendly. There is every pot and pan you need the kitchen was superb we made a huge Christmas lunch and it was really special. LOVE the fact that it?s dog friendly too, our 2 dogs loved it.
From karaoke to arcade machines, darts, pool there is everything to keep you entertained.
We went to the butchers right nearby for breakfast supply?s and everyone in the village was so friendly, such a quirky little place.
The Three Tuns is also worth a visit!
We will 1000% return, hopefully sooner rather than later although bookings seem to fill fast and I?m not surprised. We have already been looking for 2025.

So disappointed with the host. We tried calling to discuss issues but was
unsuccessful. Also Sykes haven't taken our calls either.
I had read the varying reviews about the property so was wary about the taking of the deposit over small infractions and as predicted, this is the same in our case. I have many photos which I can share detailing the disrepair and poor cleaning state that we found the Boars Head in. Photos also of the bugs we found in the pub and in our cases after using the pub rooms. The costs of professionally cleaned clothing etc after staying. I have videos and photos of how we left the pub, we recorded it all. The cleaners said to various guests that we had done their job for them in fact.
The kettles were found in a broken state on arrival but in our excitement we didn't call to complain. Our error now it seems, we don't like to make a fuss. They were thick with limescale and not acceptable for 23 guests to potentially use daily. I'm sure in the last inspection and equipment check after the previous guests this would have been identified. They were not fit for purpose either way.
We had to wash many items in the kitchen before we could use them on the Friday. Be warned there are cameras everywhere. You will get various staff entering unannounced checking the place over often. We had nothing to fear though as the fridges were cleaned, bathrooms cleaned twice in the week by ourselves, bins emptied, mopped twice in the week and a full hoover throughout. We washed down the carpark, stripped all beds and towels and left the place in great shape. The owner still kept almost half our £1000 bond. Many hot tub issues, too cold, green in colour so not appealing. Kept being set to economy 29 deg with no support on changing this.
The owner will lie and is extremely unprofessional so do as we did and take photos and videos of EVERYTHING. We will not use this host or Sykes again.

Weird place, tried to get in for a pint and maybe food (Sunday pm), doors were locked and no means of entry. Not very welcoming.
