We had friends visiting so as we'd not had a drink or meal we decided to have a meal there on the Saturday night and very pleasant it was , very warm welcome from the staff plus good food, then we sat and finished our wine off in comfortable sofas by the window, will definitely eat there again once again cheers to the staff for being great at there jobs ??

April 10 2023We visited on recommendation and ate in the restaurant, we found the food to be excellent and the lady who served us was very polite and friendly, we had the haddock, this was a 3 star experience from a two star hotel, many thanks.

The lovely women running this place took me in and gave me a place to stay when there were problems with another place in the "bad part of town". I appreciate the kindness and found the place exactly what one would want as a traveler - they are a comfortable town inn with a good restaurant and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Not staying here but was recommended to us by the owner of our B&B. We where greeted with a warm welcome in the bar and as we wanted to have food we're given the option of where we would like to eat. In the bar or as we chose taken through to the lounge. The food is that of a fresh home cooked meal with the portions being excellent for the price. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Would highly recommend if staying in the area.

We didn't stay in the hotel, we simply ate there one evening. The food is pub food but of a very high standard. I'd well recommend it.

This hotel may appear old-fashioned and homely, even quirky, but don't let that put you off. You'll get an enthusiastic and warm welcome and be served with a smile. It's very decent food as well, promptly served. A good pub meal that offers value.

Day 5 of our NC500 trip and we stayed in this absolute hidden gem!Grand and beautiful 4 post bed which was incredibly comfortable, bath big enough for 2 which was delightful, i had a glass of prosecco in the tub, felt very extra! No shame haha. We had dinner here too, the food was delicious and good size portions, we were well fed and the lady working made us feel welcome and was so helpful ? definitely planning on returning next time we do the coast ?

Comfortable bed. Free WiFi, but no password offered. Breakfast, well £7.50 for a filled roll does not a breakfast make. Coffee and tea in the room, yes but, those little milk things where you need to use all 4 for a dash of colour and then discover there are no more. Yeah, no coffee for me after that one. All I can say is, thank goodness I was here for one night, and that was only for work, and work paid for it.
