The hidden gem of the NC500! If you're travelling through Wick, this is well worth a stop. It doesn't look much from the outside but the warm welcome, friendly banter and hospitality were all second to none. The barman couldn't hear enough about our trip so far and our plans for the next few days, showering us with recommendations and helpful tips. The love for the tourist was almost overwhelming, and the staff went out of their way to set us up on the WiFi, to lend us a phone charger and to handmake us their speciality house cocktail (ask for Ralph, with a knowing wink - he makes a mean martini). I'd advise calling ahead to book and make sure there's space for you, especially if you're travelling in a large group. It felt like a home away from home and I can't wait to come back and raise a glass with the amazing locals and fellow tourists alike!

Absolutely pumping, the place has completely rebranded so finally all the boring old codgers and fish-botherers have buggered off and they?ve changed the menus to prioritise fresh trending cocktails and a variety of colourful shots. Banging local drum & bass artists on weekends, absolute vibes, packed and loads of fit birds. Loving the new interior! I manage to pull here most weeks now.

Quaint, old school fisherman?s bar where the locals will regale you with stories of old. Met some incredibly friendly people at this bar who bought us scotch and pints, wonderfully welcoming environment and great place to get a taste of old school Scotland.

Very local pub with a nice feel. It?s not a central one, so takes a little bit of exploring in the town to find it. This is not a typical big city bar or anything like that, but authenticity and local culture are the main factors I love places like this.

If you are in Wick, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Mountain Dew. An absolute gem of a pub, with a really friendly local crowd and equally friendly bar staff. I am not a local, but after my first pint I had a group of friends to chat with that made me feel right at home and welcome. Cheers to the Mountain Dew.
