We went to the Broadstraik with friends being our first visit since it reopened with high hopes. The interior is lovely and has all the makings of it to be a great place for good pub grub. 2 of us ordered the chilli con carne which said on the menu came with rice. We were both surprised instead that what was served was a large dollop of chilli with chips on the side, no rice. Grated cheddar cheese was on top which had melted and made the chilli really greasy. There were no other accompaniments like sour cream, guacamole or tortilla chips. It all seemed very basic and as one of our group said like school dinners. The service was slow and a waitress took away plates of some of those who had finished eating while others were still eating which was a bit off putting. None of the staff checked to see if we were enjoying our meal. Please Broadstraik make some changes and up your game. Really would like to see the venue flourish but needs to do better. Wouldn?t rush back

Taking in the New Year at the recently refurbished Broadstraik was so good. Food was excellent , staff were brilliant could not do enough for you , the atmosphere was just what you wanted to bring in 2024. Yes the Broadstraik is back in more ways than one, well done Finlay and your staff for a great night.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere and very well done up after the refurbish. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Menu had great selections including lots of gluten free options for my wife who?s a coeliac. Food was very high quality for a very reasonable price. There was a slight mixup with an order on our table but they fixed it straight away. Can?t recommend enough

Surprisingly cheapest diesel in whole of Aberdeenshire that too BP even less than other supermarket fuel ??. They also have automated car wash which is quite economical too.

Unbelievable - I have eaten in many pubs over the years but this was bad. Cold food which some it smelled a bit funny! Filthy tables. Bar staff seemed more intent chatting away (loudly) to the customers. Restaurant staff were nowhere to be seen. Had to go up to the bar to ask where to take our after waiting for over 20 minutes. When food arrived it was practically inedible. Left it there. Paid up and left. Maybe as a pub it is fine - though by saying that on a Saturday afternoon there were 4 people at the bar. Rest of the place was empty. Don?t think I?ll be back in a hurry,

Never leave bad reviews but after visiting here and having the worst meal/ experience I've ever had I just had to. Seeing that it was newly reopened we thought we'd give this place another try and really wish we hadn't. We should have left as soon as we saw the empty tables. Absolutely no atmosphere and this was a Saturday night. We were seated in the restaurant with two other tables being served and given paper menus stapled together and covered with crayon. Looking at the menu it was very basic but knowing they have only recently opened we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Service was slow and very poor. Wrong drinks order given and two of the glasses we received were covered with lipstick marks. Explained this to the man serving us who didn't seem to care one bit. Ordered nachos and burgers. When it finally came....wow. Nachos were just basic with no sour cream or guacamole and £14.50 for clearly a frozen burger is absolutely shocking. We explained to another man serving us the food that we really didn't enjoy our meals but I'm sure he could also tell this from the untouched plates. Again no offer of an apology or even the slightest bit of care shown. The only time the food we were served would be acceptable is after a night of heavy drinking and even then you'd expect to pay around £7 for it. This is absolutely not something you expect to be served in a "restaurant" or even the pub for that price. Judging by what they post on Facebook and what we experienced they clearly have no intention of this being a family friendly pub as they state. Such a shame as this place used to be the place to visit in Westhill years ago and has such potential. Will never ever go back and I suggest others avoid it too.
