I come in here often for cake/ coffee. They're always delicious and extremely well made!!
I went in today with my dog, which was fine as it's extremely dog friendly (even have treat tins)!

Visited the restaurant and unfortunately left very disappointed. After being shown to our table, we were completely ignored for the next 20 minutes. Several staff walked past us multiple times without so much as a greeting, no drinks order taken, no acknowledgement at all.
To clarify, the restaurant was not busy at the time, so there?s little excuse for the lack of attention. We eventually decided to leave and went to Seamill Hydro nearby, where the service was immediate and genuinely welcoming, highlighting the contrast in standards.
We raised our concerns with the restaurant before leaving and were told that the duty general manager would be in touch. Sadly, this follow-up never happened and it's been a good few. Weeks since, further adding to our disappointment.
Given the reputation of The Waterside, this experience fell well short of expectations. Unfortunately, I wouldn?t be inclined to return or recommend based on this visit.

This review is for the restaurant. Please note that the positive reviews for the hotel which are combined with the restaurant may be giving it an unduly high rating. The setting is very nice and there was nothing wrong with the service but the food was really bad. I ordered the vegetable fajitas which turned out to be vegetables from a roast dinner smothered in a sweet chilli / sweet and sour Chinese style sauce served with the usual salsa, guacamole, cheese and sour cream. It didn't work at all. I did my best to eat it without complaining but it was so sweet and sickly I had to stop. Please have a word with the chef. This dish does not work! This ordeal cost £20

Pleasantly surprised with the Waterside, room was really spacious and had great views out over the beach. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. A bit confused about the spa, when we asked reception we were told it wasn't built yet (pretty obvious) but reception didn't seem to know we had access to another spa at a sister hotel?

Following receiving gift vouchers from our wedding, we booked a dinner b&b night away at the Waterside. Staff were all fantastic from reception staff to waiting staff, the room was amazing ? and the food was really good too, compliments to the Chef!. We had a lovely relaxing night away. The views are just stunning from the location. Would highly recommend and look forward to the Spa opening! What a treat ??

Stayed in the Spa Suite which was immaculate, and one of the best rooms of this type in any such hotel we have been in. Meals were perfect, service was prompt and friendly
