I recently moved to West Calder Medical Centre around a year ago, and it?s been the worst service I?ve experienced from any practice I?ve attended. I tried to collect my repeat prescriptions and was told I was no longer a patient at the practice. I had been unregistered due to incompetence on their part. I was not even informed and left without my prescriptions and in severe pain for two weeks. I had to register again and again was not informed that I was back at the practice. I phoned to see if I was registered and tried to explain my situation to a receptionist and was immediately spoken over after about four or five words. The lady was really rude and aggressive towards me. I was told, well it felt like ordered, to calm down and speak slowly and clearly. I have struggled my entire life with a speech issue and I?m not very good over the phone. She wouldn?t let me speak, I couldn?t get a word in for the lady cutting me off, sighing and tutting at me. I got off the phone feeling awful. After getting left in pain due their mistake and then spoken to in such a manner was a disgrace. Plus when I had to go and see a doctor to finally get my prescriptions, he wasn?t much better either.

Attitude of receptionist beyond appalling!! I asked where to go for the vaccine clinic and was told where to go. I waited outside said door for the man who was opening up. She told me twice that it opened at 08.30 and asked the man if I was getting on to him. I hadn?t even spoken to him! The others and I were standing quietly waiting. I would not go to this practice if I had a choice. Left clinic on the verge of tears.

Was waiting on the line for 40 mins just for the receptionist to be rude and hang up on me mid sentence. Disgusted with this treatnent.

Absolute joke of a practice, reception team super rude, senior Gp not qualified enough (given advice over the phone and ended up in A&E with a newborn) refusing to prescribe creams for baby skin, and prescription milk (had to fight for over 2 months) after baby refusing to take a bottle for 6h. Health visitors cancelling visits 15 min before the arrival and still waiting for a rearranged visit (3 months now haha). Want to change the practice doo badly.

Once you can get an appointment or a phone call it is great. Sometimes it can take all day to get through to anyone.Both the Dr and physio I saw were great and genuinely seemed to care :)

Leaving a review on behalf of my elderly father in law. Drs and nurses are lovely reception staff are incredibly rude and curt. Terrible experience with one in particular left my father in law quite upset. The mind boggles why the practice management haven't dealt with this issue, you only need to read the reviews that consistently pick up on the same issue with these people to realise it's not a single disgruntled patient having a moan but is a chronic long term issue that has gone unchanged for too long. Does a huge disservice to the practice and the bulk of the staff to be tarred with the same brush.

Absolutely disgusting the way the reception girl spoke seems to think that she is a doctor wouldn't even let me speak to a doctor so I just said thanks and hung up the phone I phoned one day Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and never got through so I just go to the chemist get better advice from them than you do on the phone at the surgery

In my opinion the practice manager is very efficient & extremely helpful, the reception staff I have dealt with are very friendly & accomodating, the doctors I have thankfully not had to visit often but when have done they are also very efficient!!!!! Recently my in-laws had their flu jags & said it was very well organized & an efficient procedure. Only negative is the annoying beeping noise when on hold. Great practice.

West caulder doctors is different class & always has been they treat you really well ther. I have never encountered any problems with the staff either. Ther just nice always. I think people should appreciate what a well run facility wcmp is and stop moaning about the little things lol. 5 stars
