Winter day in November. Restaurant very cold. Radiators not operating. Only apparent menu pinned to wall at servery with very small print.and difficult to read. Cheese and chutney toastie. white cheap bread, tasteless cheese, chutney very nice.,diced salad fresh but placed on plate with bare hands, four Pringles. Come on! You could do better than that . Menus on tables with request to order at counter. Decent bread from a baker - wholemeal, sourdough, seeded or anything else. Choice of brown.or white cut a bit thicker to look better. Invest in a reasonable cheddar. Chunkier salad - perhaps a bit of fruit in it - grapes, blueberries orange. Make it a bit different. Crisps - crinkle cut? -would look better than four stacked Pringles. Think about it. Above all, heat the place and if the system is broken tell people and apologise -they will understand.

Friendly place popular with locals and hikers/bikers alike. Outdoor undercover seating too. Excellent home baking with fantastic choice of gluten free.

This is a hidden gem of a place where the food is wholesome and scrumptious. You?ll receive excellent customer service and will want to return time and again.

Chance visit today meant we got to try the most amazing bacon rolls Ever! Great cafe, friendly staff and fluffy, bacon filled rolls. This is a real find and highly recommended.

Jodie and staff, thank you for the most delicious scones today for our large walking club. Staff were so helpful and gluten free/vegan scones were great.

I actively choose to come here over any where else. It?s very child and bike friendly. Food is yummy and reasonably priced. Lots of space.

Visited for a quick cuppa and cake as part of a family bike ride. Good alternative to Innerleithen which can be mobbed (and not always friendly). Good quality and value. Service good. Nice spot in the courtyard in the old model farm.

We gave them 3 days prior warning that 40 of us would arrive. When we did arrive it was chaotic, 4 waitresses and 1 cook useing 2 George Foreman type grills. It could have been so easy to have 2 on the cooking and to go through the orders and check who was having sausage on rolls etc and cook them together, instead they were cooking one order at a time. The cook busy and the waitresses hanging around waiting for the food. Nice place just poor management

Always a good place to stop off on a cycle as there are tables round the back. I had a lovely mint tea this morning with a freshly baked cheese scone and some bacon

Called in for lunch during a recent cycling trip. I had messaged the owner in advance to check out gluten free options as I'm coeliac. I had the club sandwich, it was excellent. I had gluten free cake which was very nice. The coffee was also very good. It was all so tasty we called in again 2 days later.
