Lovely place and plenty of choice

Could not have been a more pleasant experience! After striking out at a couple of shops today, my husband and I stepped in and found exactly what we were hoping for, but is so rare to find in tourist spaces. High quality, local, tasteful, and not at all tacky items that are very reasonably priced for the quality you get! I'm already using my new 100% wool blanket and it is SO warm. On top of that, the owner and employee who served us were kind, generous, and obviously care about relationships - both with their customers and with the local creators whose items they stock. Thank you!

Loved shopping here, it is a treasure trove of wonderful presents, china, knitwear and children?s toys. Lovely items with a Scottish feel. Charming staff, very secure with their Covid measures.

Have used this shop when visiting Ullapool in the eighties and it remains a charming little shop filled with curios, souvenirs and gifts related to the locale and Scotland in general. The staff greet you warmly and it?s nice to just browse the textiles, ceramics and other products. Always a pleasant experience.

Awful staff.
My partner and I stopped in Ullapool for a rest yesterday after a long day of driving The North coast 500. After walking the streets we saw The Captains Cabin hardware and decided to have a look for some stuff we needed to fix up the caravan we are traveling in. My partner went in first to look and I stayed outside with our pug puppy as it has a no dogs sign in the window. About 15 minuets later my partner emerged and told me of a lot of things we needed but offered me to go inside and look while he waited with the pup as there were a few things including fishing permits he thought I would like. As I entered the shop our puppy made a little whimper noise as she doesn?t like it when I walk away. As I was browsing the staff members started to make rude and nasty remarks about my puppy one of which included calling her a rat. I then abruptly left. I would like to suggest you train your staff better in being discreet with their opinion especially when the customer they are talking about is in the shop. It put a dapper on the rest of our time in Ullapool as I felt to angry and insulted by the comments made.
