A 5 star experience at a 3 star price. Superb atmosphere and beautiful views. The staff who looked after us were amazing, great customer service and welcome. We were made to feel special and valued. This is how any business gets repet business, and we will be back! A special mention for Mario and our water hunter. Mr Trump and his management should be proud of both these guys

Ate at this restaurant on a quite Friday afternoon with colleagues from work. Restaurant was lovely with great views of the golf course. Food was really nice and very good portions but maybe a little expensive for myself. Waiting staff were very poor? they didn?t know about gluten free food or drinks, they dropped the onion rings on the table and totally forgot one of the orders which we they had come back and take after we highlighted it. Staff let the place down.

It was a welcoming experience and we really had a good time at the restaurant. The food was delicious. I enjoyed my 20oz sirloin. It was well done!

It was a welcoming experience and we really had a good time at the restaurant. The food was delicious. I enjoyed my 20oz sirloin. It was well done!Kid-friendliness: There were willing to accommodate our request to assign us by the window to have a view of the golf course for 2 adults and 5 kids.

Dropped in for nice sandwiches and drinks..the setting lovely as usual and staff very polite and friendly. It was only after we were driving up the road I noted the small pino grigio spritzer had been charged as £16 which was more than the Coronation Chicken sandwich....ridiculous..so check the bill before you pay.

We ate and drank in here whilst staying at the hotel. It was very disappointing - we went twice, once when it was over-run with members and was busy and loud with extremely slow service and once when it was very quiet and seemed drab and a little grubby. Anyone expecting a luxurious, resort style club house (as we were) is in for a huge disappointment (as we were!).

We had a meal here when staying at the hotel. My husband who can I point out is never ill from food was violently sick all night within hours of returning from the restaurant. He still doesn?t feel right 3 days on. The restaurant was swarming with flies over our table which was off putting when eating. I know it had been a hot day and windows would have been open but there were far too many to feel comfortable with. Still had to pay for the meal no offer to compensate his sickness and take his meal off the bill. Avoid.

Having booked a three day golf trip to TumpTurnberry we were mortified to discover that the Golf Club bar/restaurant and the halfway hut had been shut (till whenever), on the day we got there. So after a game we were forced to walk upstairs to the main Hotel bar to drink and eat there. Which for anyone that doesn't know, is absolutely dreadful. Bad service, indifferent food and extremely high prices.

Decided to treat ourselves to lunch today. Checked menu online and each chose our ?sand wedge? in advance. Arrived and given table beside window (after requesting this). All good so far. Menus provided was a reduced version on the one online and unfortunately the salmon and prawn croissant plus steak sandwich were both not available. We then both chose the battered fish with chips plus glass of Pinot Grigio and a still water. Fish was ok but my chips were either undercooked or had ben lying around and reheated. Ate a few but gave up. Told waitress when she took plates away. She apologised? Regarding price of a very average glass of Pinot Grigio - shocking at £14.50. So all in the cost was £62. I appreciate this is Turnberry and if quality of food plus choice had been as expected I would not have provided this review. Doubt very much we will return

We have visited A duel in the Sun several times in the past. We have typically enjoyed the food and the service, but I find that sometimes the restaurant is holding back with what they could achieve, and the stunning location is hindered by sometimes not the most impressive food or service; which is not in line with the excellent service of the Trump Turnberry resort. However, when we visited this time we were not disappointed. The menu had been redesigned and I decided to opt for the very well-done steak from the Josper grill which I thoroughly enjoyed. The service was amazing as being the same as the rest of the resort and in conclusion we would highly recommend it and will be making a point to return in the near future.

Perfect little spot for some lunch with a pretty view. Polite staff and lovely fresh food. A nice treat when on a weekend away although it is a little pricey at £72.50 for two mains, a vodka/dash and lemonade. Would highly recommend.

This is an excellent place for a casual relaxing dinner or lunch, if you are staying at Turnberry, or in the area. The food is great and the service excellent. We only visited once on our stay, but I wished we had gone more than once. There is a great view from the restaurant but note Sky Sports is on the TV in here, although the sound isn't on but it is a golf "club house"/sports bar.

Lovely location overlooking the golf course and sea. Food was fine but not exciting and quite pricey.

We stayed in the hotel for one night so we decided to eat in there. Service was slow. They don't have menus you have to download them to your phone. The Food is pricey. Food was good but wouldn't rave about it
