Disgusting food, macaroni cheese that was a plant long life fake cream with cheese melted in microwave so came out split and lumpy not to mention still cold in middle, when I asked for it to be re-heated and for the missing garlic bread, came back even worse as they must have microwaved it for longer than needed with 2 slices of SQUARE bread, coffee is pretty awful bitter an rancid tasting, best bit is I was charged for a large portion when infact it was a small, so also ripped off, shame I didn't notice until I had left.
Staff are too young and this was evidently the managers day off.
Avoid at all cost

We visited Troon on a rare sunny Saturday and popped into the Poppy Room for a bite to eat as it was dog friendly . We both had the soup and sandwich ( one chicken the other ham and cheese) combo which were both tasty . Soup came in a pretty small cup but it was really good. We did ask for the sandwiches to be on brown bread but got white. Service was a bit slow but it was busy but w had to ask twice for our tea and coffee which came very late. On a big plus our wee dog had a nice sausage and loved it. Its a nice cafe, but on this visit they need to up their game a bit 're service

This is a hidden gem. The food is second to none, freshly made to order, and more than adequate. Small menu to choose from, but nice.
You can also BYOB for a small charge.

A lovely place with friendly staff, just a shame that the bacon isn't as good a quality as some of it's contemporaries. It's dog friendly which is always a bonus

I think this place has recently been taken over by new owners. We visit here semi-regularly as it?s dog friendly. On this occasion there was no gluten free bread but the chef / owner offered to go to Morrisons and buy some! My Mum who is coeliac was happy with a bake potato but it was nice of them to offer. Even got a bit off the bill for the inconvenience. The chef / owner came back over later in the meal to explain some of the menu changes that are coming.
It?s clear there are some teething problems (which is to be expected) but they were so nice and accommodating and I?m excited to see what they do with the place.

Went for lunch today, ordered chicken mayo sandwich on brown bread with half soup.. White bread brought to the table, I didn't say anything with them being busy.. Went to eat the sandwich, noticed blood in chicken and other bits which didn't look edible, also swimming in mayonnaise.. Told a waitress, she did offer to bring something else, I asked for a scone, didn't receive it...Was told we wouldn't be charged for the sandwich... Anyway son in law paid the bill, I couldn't work out how they came to the total, not sure if we were charged for the scone I didn't receive.Have been many times before but won't be back..Staff are nice.

Stopped by with my parents for a quick lunch after a Troon stroll. Mexican chicken panini is highly recommended, freshest ingredients ive had in a panini. So refreshing. Nice quiet atmosphere and attentive staff.

This coffee shop has a homely atmosphere. The food and drinks that I have had are of good quality. The service is good and the staff are welcoming and friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no high step at the entrance, so I think that it would be suitable for wheelchair users.

Used to go here with my elderly dad & loved it (past tense now sadly). Went for some good home cooked food but left disappointed. Spoke to one of the staff at 1.30 and they said 20/25 mins for a table, we'll call you. They hadn't by the time we went back at 2.15. Ordered food and were told they weren't sure if they had the Mexican chicken - we were then told they had no chicken and not sure what they had. The girl then went to check and came back to say there was no food left! However, they could do a broccoli soup. Have had consommés that had more veg. Thin and lack lustre and very over priced for what we got. At least it was hot. Folk arriving after us were told they weren't doing food. Better if you had been honest. Had a reliable steak bake at Greggs round the corner. Thank you Greggs.
