We visited Lochgreen for dinner for my sister's 40th birthday and had a fabulous evening.We booked our table for 6.30pm, were greeted at the front door and offered a pre-dinner drink in the newly renovated bar area. We had some cocktails and made our dinner selection here before being shown through to our room.The service was wonderful from start to finish and the food was delicious. Highly recommend you visit.Food & drinks: Dinner came with delicious cranberry bread and whipped butter for the table and followed with a tuna amuse-buche before our starters.Noteworthy details: If you wish to enjoy a drink in the bar before joining your table (which I do recommend as it helps relax you for your meal). Take this into consideration for your arrival/table booking time.

Outstanding, from start to finish. We visited Lochgreen for the umpteenth time to celebrate our Mum?s 80th birthday and were as impressed as always. The quality of the food was superb, the service was attentive but relaxed, and overall we left feeling well fed. All of the food was of a high standard, but the highlight for me was the smoked venison haunch pie, which was delicious. £75 a head including tip for 6 courses (including coffee), champagne to start and a bottle of wine. We?ll be back!

My wife and I stayed overnight to celebrate our Golden Wedding. We had wonderful experience from the moment we arrived until our departure. The meal we enjoyed in the Restaurant was fantastic, The room was well appointed and spacious, could not recommend this hotel highly

Been to Lochgreen many times but moved to the East Coast so after Ladies Day with a couple of friends we decided to stay overnightWe all had a great time food was excellent Chefs banter equally soReception staff first class BUT early evening we decided to have a drink in the new cocktail bar beautiful but in Darkness we repaired to the old faithful but it was so cold it was almost unbearable a couple of times we stood at tge fire in reception to warm upFires in bar area were for decor only ( Mr Costley needs to review this )Initially a very surly barman as we asked for tea and biscuits before our cocktailHe asked if we were residents ? We wereAfter that he became a tad more friendlyWe would still return and stay overnight hopefully before ere long

Attended a wedding here and the whole place is just lovely. Reception staff could have been a little more friendly but other than that the staff were great. Food was delicious. The building, grounds and the view are beautiful. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay due to commitments the following day however I heard great feedback from people who did. We plan to return for dinner and an overnight stay in the near future.

Would not recommend or return here. I reserved a premium room online, staff discreetly checked us into a standard room and charged the premium rate. I enquired, they informed us that a wedding party had taken priority regardless of our reservation. They stated I would be refunded, but final bill charged us the premium rate and an unexplained additional amount. I emailed several times and the staff denied any issue. A terrible experience, check your bill if you decide to stay.

We went to a family wedding, it was the most beautiful setting, the staff worked so hard to make our time there comfortable, our food was amazing, we didn't stay the night but met with the wedding party the next morning for breakfast which was very nice, but I thought was quite expensive at £25 per person, I would definatly recomend anyone to stop and visit though!

Spent two nights here for a golden wedding anniversary party. The staff have been fantastic nothing is too much trouble always with a smile on there faces. Food delicious spacious room and an easy walk to the sea ? Book now!

Well what can I say apart from Lochgreen was amazing, had my wedding here and it was great from start to finish.Alex the wedding co-ordinator was simply perfect nothing was an issue for her to sort, including some last minute guest "no-shows"Adore done our photos and filming perfect but a separate review will be done for that.The venue was stunning and the staff are spot on, drinks are a bit pricey but its a hotel, rooms could be doing with some new mattresses as it seems like an obese shrek has been asleep on these beds for years.If your booking a double then it should be a double mattress.The honeymoon suite should not be a couple of doors along from the bridal suite as the last thing you want to hear on your first day of marriage is a group of women running up and down corridors laughing and banging doors at 6am.Other than that the place is ideal and keep an eye out for the best person in there who is called "Ivor" what a gem of a guy, who will go above and beyond to help with luggage and moving rooms etc during your big day. Will I go back to Lochgreen to stay? Only if Ivor is working.
