Easy to find hotel, plenty of parking. Nice enough cooked breakfast, though small time slot 0800-0845. Donald - lovely host, doing his best post storm Floris with managing power outages, fire alarms etc, but no apology or acknowledgement of the inconvenience to guests. Lack of professional hotel/restaurant staff.
Plenty of inconsistencies from other reviews we read. Flat pillows, uncomfortable bed. Black mold in bathroom, half used body wash sample in shower, tiny awkward bathroom. Weird vibe.

Booked last minute and was a great stay. Owners are very friendly.

Only place in the village that serves food but there?s no chance of getting a table. We stayed at the campsite up the road, called in for a drink, only one type of lager on offer. Asked if there were any tables for dining, we were told they were fully booked but there was 11 tables, only 3 reserved and no one else in there dining. Whilst we were sat having a drink, a family were turned away because they had a child under 5 - do these guys not realise it?s 2025! I take it this place only serves meals for the guests staying in the hotel. As they?re the only place in the village serving food they could do so much more with this place and turn over so much more money by opening for meals longer rather than 6pm - 7.30pm and also offer takeaways.

Stayed here for one night the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location. The room I was staying in was very tidy and smart. Sadly the bathroom smelled of mould and outside my window were the bins so you couldn't leave your window open otherwise the flies and the smell would come in. And when I ordered some food which cost me almost £30 when the food came out the veg was still raw and the chicken was frozen pre-cooked chicken and a very small portion

Good and convenient location. But very unprofessional staff/management/owner. Apparently the dampness and state of repair of some joints in our bathroom (room 10) has led to thick dark mould patches. Their smell filled the whole bathroom immediately. We checked in around 4pm to only leave our bags, go out for a lovely mountain walk and come back after midnight when we discovered the state of the bathroom and shower. The electrical shower made some unusual noises and suddenly stopped pumping out water mid shower, continuing with the loud concerning noises. Better switched that off and cancelled the shower. Understandably no one can address this issue in the middle of the night. Told the staff (which was presumably the owner, he didn?t introduce himself at all) the next morning that I?m concerned about the mould and the shower that wasn?t working and been told that ?he doesn?t believe me?. Convinced him to come with me to have a look at the mould and shower and he addressed it with ?Oh this is just the normal buildup of mould that you get in showers, we only clean this once a year in winter, this is normal.?
This attitude is very concerning and also very unprofessional. I won?t come back.
Although we weren?t able to use the electrical shower properly because of its fault the owner only very hesitantly deducted 10£ of the total bill. He was very nervous and surely not comfortable with customers that have a reasonable complaint.
Only later that day I discovered from our colleague that we travelled with that her shower didn?t have enough water pressure, there were only few drops dripping out of the shower head, so she skipped the shower too.
I believe there are a few issues with this hotel that needs to be addressed, I personally could deal with defects, low water pressure and other things easily if you?re not accused of lying by the hotel owner or staff, this is the most concerning thing for me.

This is a family run hotel. From the outside it presents poorly and looks in need of some loving care. Inside it is of average standard. The night we stayed dinner was served in a restricted time slot and breakfast was served between 8 and 8:45 instead of the time slot advertised. When ordering a cooked breakfast we could not believe that only one fried egg was provided - not two or the option of boiled, poached or scrambled. There was a very limited option of two cereals - cornflakes or bran flakes. No muesli. The breakfast and dinner options spoke of penny pinching.
We couldn't help noticing that none of the family members - father, mother and son ever smiled in the time we were there. We only saw one other staff member who did the cooking. Dinner options were very limited and the standard was average at best.
The room was basic and of average standard.
The bottom line is we would not stay again and we would not recommend staying there.

We didnt spend the night, went only for dinner and were really happy with our choice. Great home made food, lovely owners! Highly recommended!

I can?t speak to the accommodations, but the hospitality and service are top notch and above and beyond. My rental car had a blow out just before the town. I limped in and managed to pull in just in front of their hotel. Had trouble getting service on my phone and the proprietor, Donald, let me use his to call for assistance. He then provided me breakfast - refusing to accept payment - and a comfy, dry place (it was raining cats and dogs all morning) to relax while I waited for assistance to arrive. The view was lovely. He even took time out of his busy day to chat with me a bit. I heard him interacting with his guests in a friendly, professional manner each time. Good hospitality is a priceless commodity and often sadly lacking in the hotel industry - not at the Kinlochewe Hotel!
Oh, I also noted they have a small bar attached to their restaurant. I suspect it?s a fine place to relax with friends of an evening after hiking or biking in the area.

Stop in here while hiking the cape wrath trail. Donald is an exceptional, accommodating host and I had a wonderful stay whilst I recharged.

Despite staying out of season with the bar and restaurant closed, we had a fantastic stay. Donald and his family welcomed us to a warm and clean room, they fed us great food and were lovely company. Recommend!

Our room was very, very old and the bed was really worn out. The bathroom was not really clean, and there was mold in it. Furthermore, it was extremely drafty through the windows and the carpets were dirty. Breakfast was only a bowl of porridge with no possible add ons like fruit or something else. Dinner was nice but compared with different places we stayed during our time in scotland more pricey and nothing special.
All in all, i would not recommend staying there. It is more expensive than every other place we stayed in, and it was by far the most uncomfortable one.

I loved it. Been there in Winter and Summer. Both beautiful scenery. Quirky hotel and great hospitality. Food and beds great!

Bedraggled from a hike on the Cape Wrath Trail I stayed at Kinlochewe Hotel to recharge before my onward travel. Brilliant place with amazing history. The manager Donald is a kind and generous host. Don?t hesitate to book. Howard

We booked the Kinlochewe Hotel in its' entirety for our wedding weekend in October. From start to finish, Donald and the staff were exceptionally accommodating and helpful. They were really interested and invested in our plans and succeeded in providing our group with the perfect space to relax. All of the staff made us feel welcome and were a big part in what became a truly magical weekend. The chef, Jacob, prepared exceptional food and catered to all dietary needs. The bar is good, the rooms are cosy, and there is a lovely sitting room to relax in. Some of our guests stayed on an extra night as they enjoyed it so much and had a nice time meeting other travellers and hikers there. The hotel is already really nice, but with planned restorations and improvements over the winter it will only get better. We cannot recommend it highly enough. It is also situated amongst truly remarkable scenery, not to be missed!
