What a find! We were heading home, and looking for somewhere for a coffee or bite to eat. There was a signpost to a coffee shop, and we came across the Farm Shop. There is a well stocked shop, selling lots of unusual items ? beetroot pasta, quail pate, etc. But the crème de la crème is the restaurant. The food was out of this world! We had lentil and tomato soup; a bacon roll (tasty bacon with a home made roll), and finished it with raspberry frangipane, served with ice cream. The frangipane was lovely, fantastic pastry, and the ice cream was the creamiest I?ve ever tasted. If you?re in the area, make the effort to find this Farm Shop ? you won't be disappointed!

Walk round Potarch (3 1/2 miles) followed by a fantastic lunch of soup and falafels with salad at finzean. Delicious food and quick and polite staff.

It was difficult to choose from the daily specials and regular menu. Soup can be served with a sandwich, bacon breakfast roll or sausage roll. What options! The food was tasty, and the bacon sandwich was well filled with crispy bacon. The accompanying salad to the quiche and panini was tasty and innovative (not a squirty coating of cheap dressing slathered onto limp salad, like in so many places). The farm shop was filled with tempting pictures, soft furnishings, books, cards and fresh and frozen produce. I would definitely return.

Slightly out of the way but worth it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and fairly priced. One small issue was immediately delt with so dropped to a 4 and then straight back up to a 5. Sometimes mistakes happen, it's how they are dealt with that makes a difference, so we'll done in this respect. Looking forward to coming back and bringing some friends with us.

Whilst staying at nearby Tower O?Ess to celebrate a milestone birthday, the Estates Office at Glen Tanar recommended Finzean for takeaway afternoon tea. I ordered and paid online through the website and communicated via email regarding sandwich choices. I also decided to order the Ploughman?s Platter and the Meat Platter to takeaway too. They were ready when we went to collect and were well packed and secure in food boxes so that they could be easily refrigerated until ready to be eaten. The food was absolutely amazing, a fantastic selection with lots of choice and all very tasty. I would definitely recommend Finzean, the quality of the food and value for money was excellent, I just wish we lived locally so we could go back again.

It is not a trip to Scotland without coming here. We usually try and stay down the road and then walk here nearly every day during our visit. The last time we were there I had a tomato lentil soup that was so good I couldn?t stop thinking about it and my partner was able to acquire the recipe. We now make it regularly. Most of our treats that we bring home for friends and family come from here. I could not love the farm shop more and cannot wait to go back next January when we visit again.

Have been before and it has been a hit or miss experience. This time although the staff very lovely I wasn?t impressed. The food was rather tasteless and no atmosphere at all. The service could be quicker but sometimes this is unavoidable. When using the disabled toilet it was stacked with wooden high chairs which made it quite a dangerous area for anyone with mobility issues and not very nice to see high chairs for children being stored in the toilet. Nice place but attention to detail is needed to make it more welcoming.

Another enjoyable visit to the Farm shop for lunch with friends. Soup and quiche were as good as usual. Service was good A large selection of cakes had us debating for a while which one to have. Good to be able to shop for some local produce and other things.

We are both in our eighties. We selected Finzean Estate Farm Shop as the place to head out to from Aberdeen for lunch on what was for us a special day in our married life. Having been there several times before, we knew what to expect by way of food and service, and so could travel out there by car with confidence in what still remain tricky road conditions in places. The lunch menu is always interesting, and our most recent lunch there was ideal for this time of year, with a choice of home made soups and some interesting hot rolls (with flaky pastry) to go with them. Such was the quality of what was on offer that the pricing struck us as being fair and reasonable. The service was, as always, excellent. We were made to feel very welcome. 'Tea Room' sounds a bit twee, and a touch limiting. I can see why the meal facility is not called a restaurant, but it is entirely possible to make lunch time choices there which are both filling and fulfilling. Limited choices, but also choices with a difference, interestingly compiled, well presented and strikingly fresh. The ambience suits us well, and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We were very pleased with our choice of venue, which achieved for us all that we had hoped for and expected. We will certainly go back.

Love this place for coffee, lunch, tea. The baking is amazing and I have had some very tasty soups here. Especially like the savoury tarts. Lovely gifts and food to take home too. Would recommend to all.

Excellent service saved the day. The soup ...sweetcorn chowder ..was pureed and very thin....theyd no decaf tea so accepted a decaf cappuccino but got a latte ....the bakewell saved me from being really hacked off ...will go back again and choose more wisely for main course.

We have been here before when staying in the area.We stopped for coffee and found all the tables were reserved except for one in the back room.Fortunately the bookings were for some time later so we could use one as long as we were gone by the booked time. There was not Gluten Free cake option for my wife.We browsed the shop and gallery after and found items that were a lot more expensive than we had seen elsewhere. The toilets were modern and clean. The car park is small and flat and stony and difficult if using a wheelchair .
