Tongue Hotel is a beautiful piece of history on the NC500 route. A dog friendly hotel, the rooms are spacious, beautiful and comfortable. WiFi is good, and the rooms come with some lovely complementary coffee, tea, biscuits and sherry. We dined in the hotel for dinner, and whilst quite expensive, the food was excellent. The fish and chips are some of the best I've had.The complementary breakfast the next day is good too. Plenty of choice and a continental self serve available too. The scrambled eggs were a little underdone for our liking but altogether it was very good. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel staff was fantastic! We had a flat tire 45 minutes from the hotel and they met us after check-in time and delivered a delicious dinner straight to our room while the kitchen was closing. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view.Breakfast was also very pleasant with the option of ordering eggs Benedict and such, or helping yourself to cereals, etc.Thank you again, you really helped us recover from a difficult evening by welcoming us this way.

Lovely, lovely hotel. The hosts worked with us when one night had to be cancelled due to a power outage. The staff seemed really down to earth, cheerful, and friendly. Rooms were clean and the whole place was tastefully decorated. Dinner was pricey but the food was really delicious.

Charming and beautifully decorated hotel with a gorgeous view. We only stopped for coffee as we were passing through town, but I wished we'd stayed here instead of in Thurso the night before.

Food was lovely and the waiters/waitresses were from Australia and they were very friendly. Scenery around the hotel makes it worth a stopping off place.

Today I had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful 3 course meal at this establishment. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. The service was prompt and efficient, and the food was simply outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. The servers were attentive and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. I noticed that several people were turned away due to not having a reservation, so I highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Can?t rate the rooms as we only stopped for lunch. Fairly limited menu for lunch and not a lot of offerings for vegans or those wishing gluten free. We went for the breaded haddock. At £19 we expected a perfection on a plate. Not quite and frozen fries rather than fresh cut chips The fish was ok and that?s about it. Nothing special for £19 a plate.
