After climbing Ben Loyal I booked into the campsite about a mile away and was looking for some takeaway food (I was HUNGRY!). A member of staff at the Tongue Hotel pointed me in the direction of Olovers van on the causeway (thanks for the tip!). Food was excellent and staff (Mum and son) were incredibly friendly. Prices were good for the portion sizes. Would certainly use again if back this way in the future?...went back in the morning for a breakfast roll, went with everything (9 items in total!), outstanding ?. Could not recommend more highly - thanks for powering me through the next week! ?

Most delicious meal we have had in Scotland this summer! Delicious food, great service, great value! Better than any sit down restaurant we have been to this trip and it?s ?only? a burger/fast food van. Definitely worth a visit. If you?re staying in the north of Scotland for a while, make sure you go to this gem early on in your trip so that you have time to go back again for another visit!Dietary restrictions: Vegan and GF options

Best burger ever. Had the olover burger. Between us we had nearly everything and all thought the same. Amazing. Super friendly. Best place in tongue to eat. Even standing in the rain we chose to chat and eat to Olover. It was definitely worth it. What a stop! Fresh local and DELICIOUS food in such a stunning spot. King of the knowledge, he kindly shared fab local knowledge of where to go. You must make sure you stop here along the way for NC500, the breakfast baps are out of this world!

one of the highlights of my nc500 trip!! amazing, high quality burgers with unique ingredients ? and an insanely beautiful view to go along with them. 10/10 experience :) the owner, Oliver, was really lovely as well.a hidden gem indeed.

We love Oliver! After a day of cycling the NC500 his van was exactly what we needed & my vegan burger was great. We even came back later on for ice cream which was excellent (especially the honeycomb). Amazing to have a place serving proper food so late as well!

Had a nice breakfast burger with a cup of tea or 2 for two mornings during the 2 days we stayed at the Tongue Hostel campsite at the end of the causeway while on a motorcycle trip. Olover is a friendly chap who you can have a conversation with. He's there daily from 9am during the tourist season.Definitely worth a stop if you're travelling the north coast road in Scotland.

After beautiful day on our motorbike we walked up to the foodtruck from the hostel. The burger was amazing, the scenery great and both chef?s had passion and good story?s. On the spot burgers were made by Oliver.

Best food van I've ever been too! Excellent fresh quality food and a perfect location. Will be back tomorrow to get more food. Everything is locally sourced and the banter is brilliant. A must visit if you are anywhere near!

Damnn good burger! This is definitely ahidden gem along the NC500, it recently opened up in july 2022 and I have to admit this is the best burgers I?ve ever tasted in a veryy very long time! Beef is home grown on their own farm close by and the owner is super friendly! Highly recommend.

Visited in August 2022. Without a doubt, THE best burgers we have ever had! So impressed I returned to try the ice cream waffle - pure greed but scrumptious!Such a friendly funny guy.Absolutely will be stopping every time we pass.Can we order the burgers online? Won't be cooked to the same standard or with all the sauces etc but the Caithness meat is delicious.
