We had no problem finding the origin of the trail, which is marked right next to the hotel in Tongue. The path is set up so that one doesn't have to ascend any steep hills until one gets to the base of the castle. It goes through some beautiful countryside, crossing a stream along the way.One can climb up to the top inside the castle for some beautiful views. It can be a bit challenging towards the end, to hoist up the rocky hill to the base of the castle. But I had walking sticks and just took my time. It was well worth the effort.

(Translated by Google) A trail of easy to moderate difficulty leads to the castle. About three kilometers round trip. Beautiful views as you climb. Crossing a stream on a pleasant bridge. There is no organized and marked parking, the beginning of the path is not marked enough either, although the path itself is very clear and cannot be mistaken. Starts a few meters before the ben lyol hotel.(Original)???? ????? ???? ??? ?? ??????? ????? ?????. ?????? ??????? ???? ????. ????? ???? ??? ???????. ????? ??? ?? ??? ????. ??? ???? ?????? ???????, ?? ????? ????? ?? ????? ??????, ?? ?? ????? ???? ??? ???? ??? ???? ?????. ????? ????? ?????? ???? ???? ben lyol.

Nice walk, looks longer than it actually is and the view is well worth it. Bit hard to find the path.

(Translated by Google) Nice little hike starting on foot from Tongue village. The ruins of Chateau Varrich are on top of a hill overlooking the estuary. The hike is more of a walk, very accessible you can go with children. We take a path that runs along a field, then a small bridge, before approaching the hill and starting to climb.Once you arrive there, a metal structure inside allows you to climb to the top and have a beautiful 360 ° view of the surroundings. Otherwise there really isn't much left of this castle, we can quickly walk around it, that's the only downside. Great stop if you happen to be in the area. The whole thing does not take more than two hours so do not hesitate, and it's free too. It's not everywhere that you can do fun activities without spending a penny!(Original)Belle petite randonnée en partant à pied du village de Tongue.

A nice walk to see the old castle ruins. Not much of it left but the bit that is has a platform inside so you can climb up inside and get a great view. Was VERY windy when we were there, so be careful when up at the castle as there?s not much shelter. Free parking spaces available at the start of the path - need to look carefully to see the signpost for the path - easy to miss. Walk involves a pretty steep path. Allow 20-30 mins to get there, then the same to come back.

Not easy to spot. Treacherous when wet. Worth the walk to the castle.
